To my great surprise our request for a exchange into Marriott Mountainside during last week of March came through via II. This will be our first time here. Any suggestions of good places to eat and ski? Kids just began taking their ski lessons last year.

good evening...

Just walk up and down Main Street. Outstanding eating establishments everywhere...!!!! Food for all tastes and all budgets!!!! I like the high end eateries on Main Street. But also love Ruth Chris and Main Street pizzeria. There is a primo breakfast joint on the uphill end of main street but I forgot the name!!!!
Will be there in 6 weeks Can't wait....

As far as skiing goes Mountainside is embedded in the Park City ski area. You can through a snowball while swimming and hit a skier.

Just plan to save up for lift tickets. The walk up adult ticket was $95 last season if my memory serves me right.

Secret on lift tickets is buy them in SLC at most ski shops, they are discounted about 30% for PC and others:wave:

I have a tip. Just not a very good one.

Lessons at the PC resorts are expensive, and I don't know of any way around that.

I've found the cheapest lessons in the area to be at Brighton. Unfortunately, that means an hour drive for you, as well as a rental car. But it's a great mountain with great snow and lower ticket prices. If you're intent on saving on lessons you could plan for a day there, especially if you think your kids might only need another day's lesson before they can solo.

Stop at the Lift House on the way for discount tickets. It's at the bottom of the roads to both Cottonwood Canyons.

There's a good chance in the near future The Canyons will run a gondola to Solitude, which will change the picture of PC skiing drastically, but until then it's a long haul.

Cisero's for Italian food and it's not too expensive, and Uptown Fare for the best soup and sandwiches around!

The Mountainside is right on Park CIty Mtn Resort. You can buy a 5 pack of anytime lift tickets for PCMR from Costco for about $315 or so (they sell them at my Costco in Orange County, CA since Park City is a popular destination). Last year the lift tickets from Costco came in a pack which included coupons for 20% off ski lessons, which can really save you a lot on the kids packages. Have fun --- it's a fantastic resort and mountain.
