I was wondering if someone can help as there seems to be lots of confusion here on my part. I am interested in possibly buying a MCO resale but trying to figure out if the ads are correct or not.

Some are listing 1-50, 1-51, 1-52. I call some of the brokers selling them and they say 51/52 are only sold as fixed weeks. I believe I had read somewhere that the original MOC were set up as 1-51 and 52 is fixed. The new section is 1-50 with 51 and 52 as fixed.

Can someone clarify for me what the real situation is ? Also if you only have 1-50 or 1-51, how would you get 52 if you wanted it ? Trade through the internal Marriott system ??

You are correct the original MOC is 1-51 with 52 fixed.

The new section is 1-50 with 51 and 52 as fixed.

If you wanted 52 and didn't own it you would have to trade through II.

Actually, the original section could be either 1-50 or 1-51 depending on when the week was sold by Marriott. They started off selling 1-51 as Platinum season but changed to selling 1-50 sometime prior to the time we bought there in 2006. (We originally bought in the old section but upgraded to the new towers after they were completed a few years ago.)

It should be on the deed. If having week 51 is important to your decision on whether to buy, you should check with Marriott prior to signing your purchase contract and make sure it is in your contract.

I bought my OVs in 2002 and they were 1-51 so not sure when they might have 1-50. Are you saying they were that way prior to or after 2006?

They were 1-50 when we bought in 2006 and thereafter, so the change must have been made sometime between 2002 and 2006.
