We own at KBC but have missed the last 2 years. (broken ankle and Covid). So I wonder if anyone has any updated info for KBC?
We're going late sept to Nov.

1. Does anyone have email/contact info for room assignments?

2. Do they still have the refillable mugs for coffee/drinks? How much are they now?

3. Are they allowing room charges for dukes/portofino etc?

4. Is the Kalapaki Grill still closed and lunch available at Kukui's ?

What else that's interesting?

Thanks much!

Just got back from KBC and while I can't answer most of your questions I can tell you that most if not all of the initial difficulties in the change to Sonesta have been fixed.

Valet parking and luggage drop off and retrieval worked perfectly. You can charge at the pool bar...but have to let Sonesta run your credit card first. I don't know if this also applies to Dukes...we charged that to our Sapphire card. The restaurants across the street are doing tons of business (we very much enjoyed the Lilikoi Bar & Grill).

Another question: we are checking later in January 2022 and will be in a dedicated 1 bdrm (non-lockoff) unit (OV). Are there washer/dryers in the units? If not, where are they and do they take coins or tokens?

No, just community W/D. You're likely aware of the limited kitchen already.

Yes, and the kitchen is fine. The hotel conversions are not ideal, but we like having two bathrooms and limited cooking is fine with me. The W/D I do want, but will live with it. Would appreciate any intel on where they are; on the floors? In the building somewhere? Coins or tokens?

I didn’t comment because I haven’t been there in 10 years but when I was there was a coin operated laundry just down the hall. Not sure if they were on every floor.
Might be best to call the resort and ask if it’s important to you and then perhaps they can make a note that you wish to be near one. I used to have the email address but I can’t locate it. Sorry I can’t be more help.

[Had tried calling them but encountered a maze of press this number choices to even hope to get where I wanted but pre-arrival did send an email since then.]

Laundry in the OV Kahili building is on 3 of the 11 floors. Coin operated with washers $2 and dryers $1. Bring quarters. There don't seem to be change machines in the laundry and if you need them you need to get them at the Royal Sonesta Hotel.
