Marriott Interval - Membership Question

I'm sure someone knows this answer.

I am currently a weeks owner in Marriott (Orlando).
Now if I sell my timeshare, what happens to my interval membership ?
Do I still have use of my membership in Interval for getaways, etc. ?

Would it be in my best interest to renew Interval a few extra years...just before..if I sell ?

Do you think membership even gains me anything in Interval under this scenario ...or could I do just as well using Redweek, AirBNB, etc.

I think you can keep your Interval membership. I say this because when the DC was introduced all of our weeks were put into our new corporate II account, leaving no owned weeks in our original individual II account. We have since been given and used three or four AC's in this original account and I can also use it to book Getaways. That account membership finally expired last month and they tried to get me to renew it. If you still want to stake timeshare vacations I think it would be worthwhile to renew your II membership for the Getaways and possible AC's.

If it is an individual account and not tied to a DC enrolled week, nothing will happen. Marriott will not contact II to let them know you sold your timeshare. As long as you continue to pay your annual II membership fee, you can continue to use your II account. The main benefit of doing so would be for the getaways.

I am sure II would be delighted to keep receiving your fees to continue membership without you owning weeks any longer.

Another II question. - If I have a request first and decide to cancel the exchange request before i get a match do I get a refund of the trade fee they've already charged me?

You sure will. Even within 24 hours of the trade, you will get a refund.

True. Since all enrolled owners had an old individual account, they could just pay up the membership fee in that account if they sell their DC enrolled weeks. For other non Marriott owners, like those Vistana mandatory week owners and certain DRI owners, if they have a corporate paid account and they sell their weeks, their II membership is gone with it.
