We're in Orlando at Marriott's Imperial Palms. Imperial is all 3 bedrooms and it's very nice. The units have been refurbished with granite countertops, solid surface range, and black appliances. The dining room table and and breakbast bar will seat 12 people!

The master bath has a king sized bed, large jacuzzi tub and separate shower. There is actually a bidet(sp?) along with the commode - something I haven't seen in any other MVC resort in Orlando - laughter. Imperial Palms has a nice quiet pool and a bigger quiet pool over at the check-in area at Royal Palms.

I would definitely stay here again if I need a 3 bedroom in Orlando. The 3rd bedroom has two twin beds. The 2nd bedroom is quite large. The 2nd bath has a double sink and is quite large, also.

I'm enjoying my stay. We had some spring breakers the first couple of nights who were a little noisy - but I think they checked out yesterday - :)

Thanks for the report.

Thought about stays at IP in the past but always opted for the newer resorts.

Good hear about the refurbishment.

They also have a full sized laundry room with a full sized washer and dryer. It's not a bad walk over to the Marriott World Center - maybe 12 minutes. I would definitely stay here again - it's really pretty back in here. We talked to an older couple yesterday who own at Grande Vista, Cypress Harbour, and Imperial Palms. They told us Imperial Palms is their favorite of the three Marriotts they own.

The only negative for us were the nights the spring break kids were whooping it up on their balcony. The balconies are close because of the building design so it got noisy. But it was quiet last night. :D

Charles,
Sabal is closest and is only 50 yards to the pool complex. Imperial and Royal are across the street from one another and are near the entrance to the overall compound.

The only real negative that I see is that the marketplace isn't very good. You get all the starbucks, food court, etc. at the World Center, but it isn't a short walk, especially in the dark.

Charles, I need to take some pictures. I've been having so much fun, I haven't done it yet.

The market place is small - you definitely don't have the food options like you do at Cypress Harbour or Grande Vista. This resort is definitely more low key, but I like it. Our grown kids said they can tell it's an older Marriott resort without the wow power of the later Marriotts, but it's still quite nice and they would be glad to stay here again (especially when it's free via mom and dad). Imperial Palms views part of a golf course and a nice little lake. It looks like some of the Royal Palm units back up to the road. I'm used to walking so the walk to the World Center is no big deal to me.

I'm going to walk over and explore Sabal Palms probably tomorrow. Marriott wants us to take a tour of the new MVC property, but my husband doesn't want to go. I don't think they will let me tour by myself. I wouldn't mind doing it just to take a look at the property.

I think the sound proofing is less here than the newer Marriotts. My kids are saying that the front bedrooms can hear people coming and going with suitcases and luggage carts more easily than at the Grande or Cypress.

I've definitely decided that Interval will get my Fairways of the Mountains Week 27 deposit again and not RCI. I had thought about giving it to RCI to try for DVC. But my husband and I agree that if we can trade back into here or Cypress Harbour, we'll be content to stay at Marriott (especially Imperial Palms when we have the family with us and we need a 3 bedroom). Imperial definitely has nice kitchen/dining space for a big group.

Some of the rest of the family are at Grande Vista and Sheraton Vistana Villages. I want to take a look at the new pool area in progress at Sheraton Vistana Villages and the remodeled food area at Grande Vista.

We check into Cypress Harbour later this week, so I still get to stay there, too. You really can't beat the Mariott Vacation Club resorts for comfort. Marriott really offers a wonderful product.

Do you know what hotel amenities MVCI members would have access to at the Marriott World Center? Can guests use the pools, other private facilities, or simply the areas already open to public such as restaurants?
Any comments on MWC hotel dining?

I stayed at Sabal Palms last month and used the following amenities at the World Center:
hot tubs, pools (indoor and outdoor), fitness center

You may be able to use the spa.
The World Center is a beautiful property with a gorgeous pool area.
It is a very short walk from Sabal Palms to the World C - less than 5 minutes to the spa/ fitness center and pool.

Yes, you have access to the World Center pools. I haven't used the spa, so I don't know on that. We walked around the food court and looked at it, but didn't eat there or at any of the restaurants.

It was really noisy here this morning. There was some kind of loud machine on the golf course at 5:00 in the morning. I saw someone out there with flashlights since it was still dark - pretty strange. I don't know what type of machine it was but it was super loud and it woke me out of a sound sleep. It was too dark to see what they were doing out there.

Lawn mowing machine. They run it daily on different parts of the course. It was very loud when I was in Royal Palms on the second floor.

Why walk when Imperial Palm Villas has a complimentary shuttle that makes trips to the Marriott Orlando World Center? Call the Front Desk for the hours of operation, schedule and pick-up locations. After 9 pm, the OWC parking shuttle will take you from the hotel and drop you off at Imperial or the Clubhouse.

As long as you have presented a Marriott Rewards # and valid credit card at check-in, you may use all amenities at the main hotel including restaurants, poolside marketplace, shops, golf pro shop and spa and bill these services to your villa. This is especially convenient if you are spending the day at the main hotel pool with the family and kids. Or, if you are planning to tee off.

You will receive Marriott Rewards points as well as credit for the nights that qualify towards Elite status (Silver, Gold, Platinum).

My experience with the shuttle was that it could take up to 20 minutes for them to show up. It was just faster to walk.
