So I received a Pre-Arrival email earlier this month for a stay starting 6/29 at our home resort. I knew we didn't have this stay as we had traded our studio for a 2BR in France last November.

Yesterday, I received a call from the concierge obviously calling to set us up for a tour. So I put in the res#, check in date and our name, and voila, the reservation came up. I responded to the prearrival telling the we traded the week. Craziness.

This has happened to me a couple of times as well when I booked an II trade, added it to my Bonvoy account and then retraded it. My name and Bonvoy number were still attached to the exchange I had retraded and not only did I get all of the things that you mentioned, I got a copy of the guests folio once they checked out! But it had the guests last name and last few digits of their Bonvoy number on it, not mine.

I called the resort (MountainSide) a couple of times along the way when I realized it was still sitting in my Bonvoy reservations and they told me there was nothing they could do to change the information because it has to come from II. They also said don't worry, we get updates shortly before check-in and everything will be changed. Not always the case, apparently.

After the outage I received a confirmation for Phuket, which I am POSITIVE I didn't nor would book. I chalked it up to their system outage.

II is still down?

Why is it , when IT, update the website , the website go crazy ?

Because they hire on the cheap IT/IS folks that do not understand how all the moving parts work and interrelate.

I'd check your online account with MVC and make sure this is indeed a mistake rather than an existing actual reservation that might have been missed somewhere along the way. In the past I've actually gotten credit for a unit exchanged through II a couple of times.

Marriott owner website shows the exchange (correct size and date). So does II. Marriott Bonvoy website shows original reservation in my name.

Great. Maybe you’ll get credit. Check your CC to make sure there are no issues
