Looking for someone who is a Marriott expert or at least slightly more than a casual user plus a familiarity with Barcelona.
I have 50k Marriott certs that I was hoping to use for a pre cruise stay so I would be booked into a basic king room hoping to use NUA or platinum upgrade. Also would be using the breakfast benefit as the welcome gift/ alternate to no lounge.
I am looking at
Le Meridien Barcelona and the Cotton House, Autograph Collection.

Points are similar. Dollar amount would be higher at Le Meridien. Basic room with The Cotton House looks a little nicer.

Thanks in advance for any insights.

My wife and I stayed at the Rennaissance Barcelona hotel (by Marriott) on the back-half of our honeymoon and really liked it. It was 11 years ago, but the reviews still seem to be good.

Le Meridien is in a great location but can be loud. I won't stay there. I've heard nice things about the Cotton House.

I was in Barcelona a couple of weeks ago and stayed at this NH hotel - it was great and in a perfect location. It's on the same block as one of my favorite restaurants - Ciudad Condal - and just a few minutes walk from two of the Gaudi apartment buildings, metro, and more. Attached is a pic of the view from my room, looking out at the Sagrada Familia.
