If you own a Marriott timeshare , can you get a hotel discount? What code do you use when booking? Thanks Marilyn

Thank you,for the code information.I just tried the code and it only brings up timeshare properties, not Marriott hotels. Is there a discount for hotels if you own a timeshare?

If you have a Marriott rewards Visa you can usually get an extra 10% for a total of 35% off.

I wasn't aware that using MR Visa would get a discount - I always use this when staying at marriotts but never got a discount - only in gift shop not for room

Sorry, I do not understand how you could get 35% off the hotel price. Do you need to call Marriott to make the reservation? What do you say to them to get the discount. If you can get the reservation discount on line what do you need to input into the computer?Thank you for you information.

I do not think that owning a MVCI gets you discounts on Marriott hotel rooms. THe MOD discount is only if you are renting a MVCI

Correct. There are no hotel discounts for MVCI owners.

To get the best deal, make sure you sign in to your marriott.com account. I am not sure, but it seems that the Marriott Visa rates pop-up more often that way, especially if you are an elite member.

Also, sign up on the website to get their weekend specials; there are sometimes great deals! If you have AAA you can get a discount as well.

As stated above, the owner's discount ("MOD") is for owners renting at Marriott timeshares. The only non-timeshare Marriott property I have ever seen that gives the MOD deposit sometimes is the one in Phuket, next to the timeshare resort.

The Marriott Visa 10% discount gets added to the 25% owner's discount, when it's available. However, it seems to be very rarely available these days.

When it comes to getting discounts, I pick up the phone while working the website and chat with the Marriott Rewards reservation person. We are currently Silver Elite members (thanks to MVCI). Together we start working the deals in the area that we want to stay in, checking for pointsavers, elite member offers, MOD, etc. It usually works out that two heads are better than one and I come away satisfied. My e-mail confirmations are usually posted before I can hang up the phone. :whoopie:
