It's been a couple of years since we took advantage so the program could be changed but I believe you have to stay a minimum of 4 nights and you get 2 rounds of golf at 3 or 4 pre-selected courses. For each night's stay after the 4 night minimum you get another 2 rounds at those same pre-selected courses.

A 7 day reservation gets 6 rounds that can be used two per day and does not include the cart which is mandatory.
The Free Golf can be played at the Port Royal Courses, or Shipyard (27 holes), or Oyster Reef.

The greens at Shipyard were the best of those courses at that time.

I bought Heritage pre-construction and later sold my Week. The above doesn't sound as good as the Golf Program that existed when I bought....

If you stay a week at Heritage, you receive 5 rounds per person (10 total) and it does include the cart. The cost to you is nothing - great deal!

Thanks for the replies. Is it too cold to golf around Christmas week? Courses open? We are coming from FL and welcome some cooler weather :)

It’s really tough to get into Heritage Club at least for this points owner. i do believe all MVCI offers a 7 day pass to the Heritage Club courses (Port Royal, Oyster Reef and Shipyard) including cart.

The ten year period is up soon so it may change.
It was 7 courses, but Port Royal closed one, and Palmetto Hall is no longer included, so it is down to 4--as mentioned above..
10 rounds, cart included.
Over ten rounds, no greens fee--but cart fee must be paid.

We booked a week using points last September and received 10 rounds of free golf at 4 courses.

This applies to all. We always go in January and golf 5 times. The weather may be a little chilly when we start ( we like to play at around 10am) but usually warms up quickly.

It was a ten year contract.
It does not automatically renew.
The board will have to negotiate a new golf package.
It may be the same courses, or it may change?

Random golf-related question for Hilton Head but this as good a thread as any...do any courses there allow you to walk rather than take a cart?

There are some--Harbour Town where the tournament is one that allows walking or a caddie.
The May River course has caddies as an option--so they probably allow walking?

Any update on the contract?

I used to receive a newsletter once a year.
I have not received anything this year--it may be due to covid?
Therefore I have no idea what transpired with the golf package--but it expires end of 2020 so I assume they must have either renewed,
or are about to?

The Golf Package when I bought Heritage Club pre-construction was great. After it was IMO devalued I sold my Week to a guy vouched for by a RE Broker on the Island who worked in Saudi Arabia and only came back to the US 2 weeks every year just to visit HHI and play golf. We had a handshake type arrangement. He paid me for my Week in 24 equal payments and I didn't transfer title until fully paid. He was never a day late...

Has anyone received a 2021 proposed budget yet for this property? I would suspect if they renewed or removed, it should be detailed there in the related line item? If they were to eliminate it, it would be a big savings to the owners. With the loss of the benefit of course.

It would not be that big a savings.
I seem to recall it was $125 a week per unit?
However I could be mistaken.
