Anyone stayed here recently or have an opinion on this resort? I just booked a Sept 09 trade and understand that it is an older property that has been remodeled. We are not interested in a beach vacation (live 5 miles from the beach now) or a pool but do like to golf, tour and dine in nice restaurants. Looked at the TUG reviews but only one is recent. It looks like a nice TS but is a little hard to find.

going in 8 days

I am going to be there starting 8-16 and could let you know what it is like after that. We spend one week there and two weeks at MGO down at the beach.

The resort overlooks the Shelter Cove Marina and is in a good central location on HHI. There are some restaurants within walking distance, but any restaurant on the Island is at most 15 minutes away. There are tons of golf courses, and September won't be very busy in HHI. I will tell you that you can get a much nicer timeshare if you wait until deposits for 09 are in Interval. September is very easy to get.

You might moniter the internet for a Heritage Club unit to re-exchange into. The free golf would more than make up for the second exchange fee. You would only be seeing Harbor Point and Monarch now because the fixed weeks can be exchanged at 18 months out, while the others are floating weeks available only at 12 months.

Heritage club golf

I didn't realize that Heritage Club had free golf. What is the arrangement? Do you have to purchase a golf pass for the week?

I wasn't aware of this perk until your post.

Do you know if only Marriott exchangers get the free golf, or do other exchangers and ACs also qualify?

I'm sure others know more specifically but my understanding was that all guests, including any exchangers, get the free golf. Unlikely Manor Club where it's only owners and Marriott exchangers. I forget which resort (not a Marriott), but there is another resort on HH that gets free golf for all exchangers as well.

I thought Heritage Club free golf was for owners and Marriott exchangers. Not for non Marriott owners. Can anyone confirm this?

In the review of Heritage there is talk of an RCI exchanger getting the free golf. It's possible it's changed but I'm sure it was for everyone in the past.

Review

I read one of the TUG reviews of Heritage Club HHI, which said that Marriott TS exchangers could play any of three golf courses in Sea Pines for $37.50 per person, per day. Does anyone know if this benefit is extended to any of the other Marriott TS on HHI? Or, is it only for Heritage Club guests. Are there any other golf packages that can be purchased by Marriott TS owners?

I think they were referring to the fact that cart fees are additional. No, these are not options for other HH Marriott's though some do have their own Golf plan for owners who pay extra for the option.

We are staying at Heritage Club as I write this. You can get one round of golf for two players each day for a cart fee of $35 per person. You get 1 round at Harbor Town and the rest at either Heron Point or the Ocean Course. Its a great deal if you are a golfer. Last year we stayed at GO but this year my husband and son wanted to take advantage of the golf. We arrived here late Friday after leaving NJ at 5:00 AM. It was a 13 hour drive that took us 14 hours with stops. They have played the Ocean Course and Heron point once and today they are playing Harbor Town.
