Marriott Grande Ocean Early Summer Gold Week Bookings

Long time reader, first time poster.

Background: My in-laws have a Gold Oceana Palms week and we've enjoyed using it with them for the last 10 years. We've been to 12+ Vacation Club properties and we are considering jumping in. We live close to Hilton Head so we are planning to purchase resale there. We did our 3 trip to HHI this summer and loved it. We would likely use for personal each year.

We like all the Big 3 HHI properties (and Monarch). We have lots of little kids (all in school) so we will basically be on-peak traveling for the next 20 years. Our school gets out early so we would have 3-4 weeks of Gold week we could do for summer (21,22,23). We would consider buying multiple weeks to get the 13+ reservation if it made sense. Anyone had luck booking early summer dates at GO?

Looking through the threads it seems that Gold Summer is really hard to get. We are not picky about OF or OV, just trying to figure out if Gold may work or if we should just go straight platinum. Any advantage or disadvantage to buying OF vs OV related to booking hard-to-get weeks?

If you buy 2 OS gold weeks you'll get the weeks you want. Probably true with OF, but there is less OF inventory. I own (2) OF gold weeks and did get week 21 this year in the first time I tried.

Thanks for the message! I appreciate it. I just put an offer in for 2 weeks GO Gold so we'll see if it goes through and passes ROFR. I'm looking forwad to spending some time in HHI over the next few years.
