Marriott Grande Ocean Cigarette Smoking Problem

I am currently staying two weeks at the Marriott Grande Ocean. I am a Gold season owner, and have been coming to the Grande Ocean for 15 years, and have never encountered people abusing the no smoking policy.

We have encountered three instances of people smoking, and called the front desk. Security is sent out, but this is a major issue.

Went down and watched them check in several new arrivals. When people check in, the front desk DOES NOT inform them this is a non smoking property, and the only places that guests can smoke is the designated smoking areas. The check in staff shows them on a map the hot tubs, etc., but does not show them where the designated smoking areas are.

I have requested to speak with the General Manager.

A little smoke

Goes a very long way when you are not a smoker. This is a major problem whenever I encounter it. I agree that everyone who checks in needs to be informed that the penalties will be quick and should be costly. A little smoke even a hundred feet away ruins my enjoyment of the day.

I have requested to speak with the General Manager.

Please let us know any outcome if you discuss the issue with Bob. This certainly has not been a prevalent issue for our return trips to MGO, but obviously the crown is ever-changing...
