We own at Canyon Villas and I'm trying to trade a deposited 2BR week for 2BR next July or Aug. I would prefer either of the Marriott properties or Hyatt. Does anyone have any other suggestions? We'll be 4 adults, hubby, me, and newlywed son and DIL
I'd like to be close to the lake, casinos and in a not noisy area.
Thanks to TUG, I was able to rent studio lock-off portion for Oct, still have 1 BR on deposit as well as 2 ACs. I read about all you Tuggers with so many trips planned. Alas my work schedule gets in the way.
I live and work at Lake Tahoe. Here are some insights for your next Tahoe vacation:
Hyatt High Sierra Lodge is located on the north shore, while Marriott is located on the south shore. Hyatt is more secluded, nestled in the forest. The north shore stateline casino district is very small in comparison to the south shore casino district.
Marriott and Hyatt are both outstanding properties, and they have distinctly different attributes; Marriott is located near more casino and shopping action, while Hyatt is a more quiet and peaceful setting. Amenities near the Hyatt High Sierra Lodge include the Hyatt Regency Hotel and Casino and restaurants, such as the Lone Eagle Grill which is on the lake.
Both Hyatt and Marriott can be tricky to trade into because most owners like to use their weeks rather than exchange.
Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort is an I.I. Premiere Resort. It's a newer property on South Shore, built in 1996, and about a 5-minute drive to the casino district. You can walk to the Ski Run Marina and Beach from the Resort. It is a very nice resort.
I'm not sure which exchange company you use, but if you are able to broaden your search to include: Edgelake Beach Club (north shore at Tahoe Vista) and Tahoe Beach and Ski Club (South Lake Tahoe), they are smaller quaint resorts. Although they don't have the pinnache of Hyatt and Marriott, they are both lakefront properties which I think are a wonderful backdrop for a great Tahoe vacation.
