We just traded our little Puerto Vallarta studio for a 2 br/2ba at Desert Springs I for the 1st week of January. We have only been there in the heat of summer before.

Is the Spa pool area still included for the villas during the winter season?

So excited!

Hi Babs: Yes, this question was asked at general meeting and so far it is included. They are negotiating with JW to continue. What a great trade you got! Do see the Palm Springs Follies while there!

Thanks - I think we did well. I bought the Puerto Vallarta proparty with hopes of it trading ok. I didn't expect a 2 bedroom trade from it in anything but flex period though.

The whole idea that something like that is up in question is one of the scary part about timesharing... One of the reasons we have really considered buying at the Villas I is because of the spa access at the hotel. I would be mad as heck if they changed that after purchasing...

Yes, you should get the Spa privilege, and you'll enjoy all the saunas they have visiting in January! This will be a great time of year to enjoy some of the beautiful and easy hiking in the area. Visit Palm Canyon or Thousand Palm Oasis while there. So pretty!

Your close to P.S. so maybe you already saw these!

Great trade by the way!

I'm wondering why there are so many 2br/2ba Marriott Desert Springs Villas lock-off units for sale in the Sept./Oct. issue of TimeSharing Today. Do you get less privileges buying resale?

Not that I am aware of. It may be just the economy souring :(

Things to do in Palm Springs next week - golf hikes food...

Thinking about these things - anything else I should consider?

Moorten Botanical Gardens http://www.palmsprings.com/moorten/index.html

Joshua Tree - hike http://www.nps.gov/jotr/planyourvisit/directions.htm

Tram http://www.pstramway.com/tickets-gifts.asp

Agua Caliente Indian Canyons - hike - Tours are Approximately 1.5 hours and are 1 mile in length.

VILLAGEFEST http://www.villagefest.org/index.html THURSDAYS

Palm Springs Art Museum - Free on Thursday from 4-8 pm, and is a block from the downtown Village Fest.

My husband really wants a good deal on a golf game - we are used to coming in the summer when the rates a great. Anyone know of any specials?

And - any restaurants not to be missed - trying to conserve $$..

[/B].

These are the only two I have done and I liked them both. Joshua Tree was hard when we did it only because it was August and 117 degrees.

Really enjoyed the tram, and have done it several times. There was really nice hiking when we went. Remember it is much cooler at the top. At this time of year there will most likely be snow, so dress appropriately. The restaurant at the top used to be a so so buffet, but when we went last summer it was a fairly decent lunch. I wouldn't take the tram up just for lunch or dinner, but would eat there if I was already going.

Have fun!
