With The recent interval change giving Vistana ,Marriott preference at a reduced rate and giving Vistana ,Marriott preference,, Hyatt owners will have significantly less inventory in interval to chose from. I do own one Vistana week but always used Hyatt for trading. Maybe we will be included at some point.

It seems that now you won’t have to use the Hyatt to trade and can use the VSE to get the Marriott property you want.

It looks like the OP owns WKV, not sure I would ever trade that through II. Better to use the StarOptions, especially if it is Platinum Plus.

Valid point. I guess I’m not so sure what the gripe is though? If it’s interval inventory the OP is worried about with MVC then they have access to that inventory with the VSE unit. I’m with you, I’d use those options within VSE over MVC properties. I’m sure the Hyatt will still pull great inventory.

Not everyone owns with Vistana on here and while it may not affect me as much as others it is something to be aware of and will impact Marriott and Vistana inventory for Hyatt owners. It is sharing observations not griping and is a valid concern. It will be interesting to see how it pans out. And yes Hyatt is still great and will pull good inventory but we will see less prime Westin and Marriott.

Maybe, maybe not. I own platinum vse and am now thinking about ii trading. I have never used ii in 10 years of my vse ownership.

Since I own both Marriott and Vistana, the priority is great. I do wish Hyatt was included but Hyatt is now separated. Hopefully it will change once Vistana is fully integrated.
Now thanks to Sightings, I have noticed more bulk drop ins so it does look like Hyatt is on a similar schedule.

It will affect Marriott and Vistana inventory for all non Marriott/Vistana owners, not just Hyatt. But for a Hyatt owner, it puts another group of owners between you and Marriott. And you and Vistana. Hyatt has the quality to get into Marriotts/Vistana but no priority.

We too have never used our Vistana to trade. We typically use it for Maui. Hyatt has been our II trader. We will also be looki g more into using Vistana

JMHO..... I won’t worry. It won’t be significant. You’ll still see the resorts that are seen today.

Keep in mind, the only way someone is going to pick up a week during 2nd priority window is if they get a match on an ongoing search request or if they’re checking II availability on a daily basis.

Yes, some owners might be able to take advantage of the weeks that fall out of the 1st priority window but the majority of owners are simply going to setup a narrow search (requesting high demand resorts during peak travel periods which are often taken up during the 1st priority preference period) and will not check online availability on a regular basis. And some owners will simply pickup inventory that has always been available every year to all II members.

The only owners I see making a dent are the Tuggers who are monitoring availability on a daily basis and taking advantage of whatever resorts/weeks popup online. But this is a very small percent of total owners.

I can see a way where this change will work against the Marriott/Vistana owners. Because Hyatt now has a lower priority, fewer Hyatt owners will exchange their unit (or however Hyatt does their points accounting), which means fewer Hyatt properties available for the MVC/VSE owners through II.

We're not anxious for Hyatt to be included as an equal with Marriott and Vistana for the simple reason that we don't want all of those owners to compete with Hyatt owners for Hyatt inventory. We like the Hyatt unique boutique properties as opposed to the behemoth Marriott and Vistana properties. If we wanted Marriott, we would have bought Marriott!!

Hyatt has some great hotels. I’ll start looking to trade my vistana units to visit the less behemoth hotels. Only issue is, there is only one location I’d want to go to with Hyatt and most likely availability when I’d want to go would be impossible to get.
