Marriott (Hotel Side) Extending 60% bonus (effectively 0.0078 cents/or) on purchase ($0.0125) of bonvoy points to 7/15/20. Was supposed to end today. Marriott must still be looking for cash.

So using to stay at a 50,000 point hotel is effectively costing $391 so maybe of value if current cash cost is more than $391. Makes much better value if you need the pts to complete a 4th night on points so you get the 5th night free.

Generally not a good idea to buy points unless you have a specific trip in mind where the purchase price of points is cheaper than the cash cost, typically at luxury hotels outside US (ie at Regis or JW Maldives) where cash cost can run over $1,000/night

We use the points for the seven night plus AA ff miles at the hotels in London and to fly business class over. With extra Marriott points we stay several more nights. Lord knows when we’ll be able to get to the UK.

Like mentioned earlier purchasing can have value if you use it for 5-Night [1-Free] stays + at resorts that have a cost of 1.5c/Point or more.
We are lucky as we have 6 x 330K CERTS that we can opt to purchase for $2275 each which works out to $0,006894.
With the 6 x Points using Amex we get 343650-Points which works out to $0.006620.
