Can't beat the location if proximity to Disney parks is your target. The Palms villas are on the same complex as the Marriott Orlando World Center, which has restaurants, a food court, a golf course, excellent pools, a water slide tower with multiple water slides, etc., etc. all available to Palms guests via a short walk, or a shuttle.

Imperial Palms has its own pool, etc, as does its sister resort Royal Palms, but having the Marriott hotel next door is really a nice added benefit. Also, within close proximity to the resort, there are many restaurants to choose from.

HERE is a link to the Imperial/Royal Palms resort layout.

Our favorite BBQ restaurant is down the street--Smokey Bones. We don't have any of those restaurants in the west, so we go 2-3 times in a 2 week trip.

The units were redone just a few years ago. The Palms properties (Sabal, Imperial, Royal) are behind the huge Marriott World Hotel. The hotel has a fantastic pool area and hotel restaurant choices. The timeshare pools are very small. A shuttle is available to take you to the Hotel door... or you can walk if you want.

The area: The hotel/timeshare property is large. It's located along a major parkway. You would use a car to go anywhere... theme parks, restaurants, grocery store. Disney property is close but once you're on the property there is still a drive to get to various theme park parking lots (count on a 15-20 minute drive to actually get to a parking lot), SeaWorld about ten minutes, Universal about 15-20 minutes.

Just about every type of restaurant you could ever want is in Orlando... the closest would be ten minutes from your timeshare... None of them are "far," but could take 25 minutes (because of traffic/lights).

The hot spot now is some of the new restaurant offerings at Universal Hotels and City Walk (Cowfish, etc), but you'd have to pay the Universal parking fee).
