Married golfersheaded to Massanutten---Unit 387-P at Woodstone, or 80-U at Summit?

We are married golfers looking to stay at Massanutten in early September (either just us as a couple, or with another couple).

I originally booked an RCI Last Call at Woodstone (and was given unit 387-P---the RCI rep suggested that.
I have looked at the resort layout, but it's hard to tell what everything is facing, etc.

When I called back with questions, a different rep suggested Summit would be better for people without kids---so I now have Unit 80-U.

Here's what I know:

Woodstone is newer, closer to the golf course, etc. However, Unit 387P appears at the far end of the resort, so it looks like we will need the car to and from the course, fitness center, etc---hence I started considering the Summit. The unit at Woodstone is a partial kitchen and does not have a BBQ grill on the deck.

Summit might have better views---would 80 U have good views? That unit has a FULL kitchen.

If I knew that the 'newness' of Woodstone makes it considerably more attractive, and/or that 387-P has a golf course view (it appears to be on the INTERIOR of the street, hence may NOT have golf course views); then that would offset the partial kitchen.

On the other hand, if 387 doesn't face the golf course, and Summit views are much better, then that plus the full kitchen would make that better.

(How far is it from Summitt to Woodstone anyway?)

So, can anyone give me more details of Woodstone 387-P vs. Summit 80-U?

I have to make a choice by Tuesday afternoon.

Thanks,
Pat

The Summit at Massanutten Peak Drive Section

Pat

Summit 80 U is located all the way up the mountain
Take Peak Drive - Turn Right on Mountain View Drive
Third unit on the right - end of group - older unit
Nice Area - with Lots of Deer - View of the Kettle

Just an added note regarding The Summit unit`s
These units are built like a rowhouse/townhouse

The units with full kitchens have a screened in porch
The units with partial kitchens have an open deck

Meadow View Drive - Unit 91L - Lower

I know that the condos along Litten Lane
that have the grayish color ext have both
Now that I think about it - I will have to
check my photos regarding the decks for
the brown/reddish color Peak Drive units
I have never stayed up there but rode by
& look mostly at the front exteriors & deers

Woodstone 387 P

Pat

This is the one I would pick - It is one of
newest units and right by the golf course
Newer Televisions and Plush Bedding!

After a mix-up, I ended up with 309K

I called RCI back today to reserve/change back to the 2 BR Woodstone unit---but it was gone.

So, I now have reserved a 1BR in Unit #309K.

Marty---thanks for your replies and e-mails.
What can you tell me about 309K---it looks like it perhaps will have a golf course view.

I was told it had a full kitchen, and since there was a
mix-up when I was informed that the previously reserved Summit unit had a Full Kitchen----now I find out it does NOT---that's a plus.

Unfortunately, we are down to a 1BR vs. 2BR.
(Another couple is about 50/50 on joining us; that may sway that decision to the "no" side).

I now have reserved a 1BR in Unit #309K.

Woodstone Meadows new unit configuration is Casa de Campo
(Country House). These units are two-bedroom units sleeping eight
which can be locked out to 2 one-bedroom units each sleeping four.

These units are outside of the "Kettle" and close to the Woodstone Recreation Center and Golf Course. 309K is Close to Putting Green.

Woodstone 309K - full kitchen - Brownstone Court
Four new buildings boxed together in a small court
Designed more like a hotel with an interior hallway
Everyone on the floor shares the laundry room...

I would recommend calling back to see if you can get a 2 bedroom

Marty - the Summit units at the end of Peak Drive have screened in porches?? I am in 91UL in August, I assumed they would have the 2-3 decks like the Summit Hillside Units. We did a drive-by while there in June but didnt notice porches. Sounds good to me

Summit 198 Upper

Marty,

Can you tell me about Unit 198U?
We are going the last week of August....

Summit 198U is located in The Summit at Innsbruck Section (191-216)
Take Litten Lane past Garmish & make a sharp left onto Innsbruck Drive

There are three groups along the right side of the drive (hillside)
198U is the eighth unit as you drive into the court - end of group
From my memory, map notes/drawings there are LOTS of EXT steps
You may want to contact the resort if you have problems with steps
I am not sure about the decks/porches - rear of bldg faces the woods
The first unit - 191 - has a deck only, no screen in porch
There are 4 bldgs on the other side of the road (facing Litten Lane)
Nice area but units 203 to 216 have less steps and a better view..
The area/road is hilly - you have to drive to everything - soso view.

You can also email the resort for more information..
