Wondering what the kitchen is like on the studio side. Based on the photos on the website it looks like just a coffee maker and microwave. Does anyone know if there's a stovetop, refrigerator and a toaster(we like to make egg sandwiches for breakfast :))?

Are the studio side kitchens for Mariotts equipped the same?

Thanks!

No stovetop. There's a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Can't remember if there's a toaster.

I remembered there being a toaster from multiple visits, this TA photo confirms my memory. All the studio units we've stayed in sort of meld in my memory so I wanted to be certain. My wife and I are fine with the studios as long as we can grill. The small refrigerators demand some discipline in what you can keep on hand.

Confirm also that there is a toaster. It is basically listed as a kitchenette. Just microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker and toaster. Utensils, plates, cups and coffee mugs provided.

Stay in a studio at Westin Kaanapali and you will see a very big studio. The Westins at Kaanapali have full kitchen with stove but no oven. Also there is a washer and dryer in the studio.

Actually they are doing a remodel right now and are adding ovens to the 1BR side of the lock-offs.

The studios are one area I wish that Marriott had followed Vistana on. Having the stove top burners and in some cases a larger refrigerator, as well as washer and dryer make the Vistana studios much nicer.

Best regards.

Thanks all! I see the studio pop up periodically on II. Is there any chance of trading into a 1BDR with a SDO 1BR. I would not be looking for peak season. Maybe October/November(before Thanksgiving). Thanks again for all your help!

For Oct./Nov., you should have a very good chance of getting your request matched, especially if you've placed your request as early as you can (a year in advance?). Once, we requested a 1-BR for early November, but II called us to see if we would accept a 2-BR! Remember, the studios that you see on II are the "left-overs" after the requests have been matched. I know the Westin is bigger then any studio we've ever stayed in.

I actually think the Ko Olina studio is on the smaller size -- it's really the size of a hotel room. Maybe I've had good luck with some of the studio's I've stayed in, but I wouldn't consider Ko Olina one of the better Marriott studios. But it is Hawaii!

Best,

Greg

I totally agree Greg. We love Ko Olina, but we feel the studio is much smaller and more confining than many of the studios in the Marriott properties.

I’m here now. Small room like a hotel room, but fine for 2 people.
here’s the kitchenette. Not bad, decent fridge, sink, microwave, toaster, even a rice cooker. No stove.

If you have a one bed SDO to trade I'd hope for one of the Westins in Hawaii. The one bedrooms are great ( the Marriott 1 bedrooms are also great)
BUT the Westin studio units are really much bigger with a full mini-kitchen and washer/dryer which IMHO makes them much better for a week stay.

BUT that does mean you'll be in Maui or Kauai and not Oahu.

I spent two weeks with my youngest (18 at the time) in the studio, and we found it lovely (we then moved over to the one bedroom for another two weeks when my husband and oldest joined us). I bought an inexpensive single burner and brought a small nonstick pan, so we made lots of our meals (eggs, grilled cheese, etc). Nothing smelly, and I was very meticulous at keeping the kitchenette area very tidy. Although I know officially that’s not allowed, housekeeping never said anything when they saw it. As I had no use for the burner, I left it by the elevators with some other items when we left.
