OK, in the past I have book this Margaritaville location. Why is it suddenly changed to ineligible. I know they only have 6 rooms, but it ticks me off when Wyndham changes accessibility without telling us in advance.

Has anyone else noticed this removal from access?

There were a couple people on Facebook that said the same thing. I got a free Margaritaville contract from Timeshare Nation, and was able to book it, so I think it’s only available to Margaritaville owners. Maybe the Margaritaville owners complained.

We have been able to book it as VIP owners. We're going on our first visit there in early April .. splitting 5 days at Wyndham Smoky Mountains and 2 at Margaritaville Pigeon Forge. I booked in July, 2019 but if trying to book today I see the 'Ineligible' message.

We're not sure if it's transitioning in some way or if it's a temporary glitch.

This may not be a glitch. Margaritaville owners are still able to book that resort. If anything, Non-Margaritaville owners shouldn’t have been able to book it in the first place, because VIP benefits do not apply there.

I’m Silver VIP and I can’t book the one in Pigeon Forge but I can book the Nashville Margaritaville. Why would they be different?

It depends on the resort. I can no longer see Pigeon Forge and I'm VIPP. They had it available for a little while when it was first brought to market, but it's subject to change based upon demand. If the resort has sufficient demand from MVC owners to meet occupancy goals, then they will limit that resort to only MVC owners (like @Richelle), if they cannot meet occupancy goals with only MVC owners - then Wyndham will open it up to VIP owners and even non-VIP owners depending on how low the occupancy gets at certain times of the year. I agree that Wyndham does a bad job of advertising these changes - you just have to look and see what's available at different times.

I believe there are also a very limited number of units available for timeshare use. It's primarily a hotel with some rooms set aside for Wyndham/Margaritaville owners if I remember correctly.

Sorry, just realized the OP indicated only 6 rooms available. That said, I am seeing availability starting this month (much of it limited until Aug and beyond). Everything is greyed out from Nov 15 on though and I'm a Margaritaville Owner.

First, Pigeon Forge is actually a hotel. Second, VIP benefits do not apply to this location per the directory and Resort page on the website. Third, this is a non-managed location. The other locations are actual resorts that have Wyndham managed units and VIP benefits apply. Think of Pigeon Forge if more like an affiliate hotel that’s in the Margaritaville system and not the Club Wyndham system. They should have let people know that it was not available to VIPs anymore.

It appears that VIPP that has privileges to Margaritaville just had that right pulled (probably because there is only 6 rooms in Pigeon Forge). I have booked here before, so I know they just revoked access to NON-margaritaville members, as Margaritaville members are still seeing it.

I’m actually staying at the Nashville location next week. I thought it too was a hotel with some studios available to Wyndham owners? Oh well, live and learn.

It is a hotel but Wyndham does have it’s own floor (6th) of studio (timeshare) units with a Wyndham managed check in desk and also a sales/concierge desk.

Oh, fun! A sales desk! How many “no”s will it take? My upper limit is 3. The goal is 2 in pretty quick succession so I waste no more than a couple minutes there.

Actually, the Wyndham floors are 5&6, plus sales on 3. There is a separate Wyndham check in desk and the sales/concierge one as noted.

Shouldn't be an issue as they don’t have parking passes - just don’t go to the concierge. Think they gave us a coupon for a margarita, but that’s not truly mandatory anyway (and wasn’t that great).

Actually, the VIP Benefits writeup is very specific about this VIP benefit that provides:

Access to Margaritaville Vacation Club® by Wyndham Resort Inventory1,7

And the columns say 6, 8 or 10 months out depending on silver, gold or platinum.

The two footnotes are:
1-Subject to availability.
7-At the Standard Reservation window, a minimum of 50 percent of Margaritaville Vacation Club resort inventory will be held exclusively for VIP members. VIP members can access this inventory at different time lines based upon their VIP tier.

and of course VIP benefits are subject to change without notice.

So if they were sticking with 7 they would save rooms for VIP. But the special messaging on the site implies they revoked the benefit from this resort.

That’s exactly what I’m seeing, 6 month window for Nashville but no access to Pigeon Forge.

It is a hotel in a glamorized strip mall filled with tourist trap shops. Not sure why anyone wants to stay there. There are so many beautiful timeshares in the area.

That is an associate resort. Not a Margaritaville vacation club resort. Again, it specifically says on the resort page "VIP benefits do not apply". Margaritaville Vacation Club resort access is a VIP benefit. Since VIP benefits do not apply there, they don't have to give non-owners access.
