DH and I have a June 12, 2021 exchange to Marathon Key Beach Club. I'm looking for ideas about what to do while we're there. One day we'll be going to Dry Tortugas National Park, but we have no other plans. We don't fish and don't own a boat. But we like to swim, snorkel, hike, visit parks, gardens, and other places of interest, and watch the sunset. Any suggestions?

I would recommend that you go online to obtain your transportation tickets to Dry Tortugas ASAP. Sometimes it takes weeks or months to be able to obtain any availability to get there (been there, done that).

Enjoy your trip!

no name pub is nothing special at all IMHO. Food was only OK and I don't think they have a liquor license so the margarita we got was made with something besides tequila (vermouth? wine? Don't remember ). Seemed to me they were successful because of the name gimmick and the whole business about how hard they are to find.

If you like to ride a bike you should check out the Fl Key Heritage trail. I think it is a park now and it is the original road built on the railroad piers where the seven miles bridge starts. It goes out to Pigeon Key and is cut off after that.

A bike is wonderful way to explore and the paths on Marathon are great but you could walk it also. I cannot fathom how 2 trucks could have passed each other on the original road. Just don't let the views from the road distract you too much !

I think the park was closed a few years ago for maintenance - i would think it is back open now.

Sombrero beach is also on Marathon and is one of the few good beaches in the Keys.
