I just called the MC, the lounge officially opened yesterday. Probably a good spot for a TUG get-together, I was told it is HUGE (the old one was pretty big too).

It is open to all, forget about anything complimentary, though. Not sure re floor. I would advise your friends to avoid the breakfast; they make it sound like it's free from the card they leave in your room, but you don't see the table card regarding the $20 charge until you've put your food on your plate and you sit down at a table. not worth it imho, you can get hot breakfast around the corner for less, or just have coffee/bagels/etc. in your room. There is a bar in the lounge that serves drinks (not free either). The only computer(s) are in the business center, but I haven't been there. Maybe one day the MC will get with the times and offer wifi...

We were there last time, and will be there again the end of this month. No wifi and any use of their telephone lines for dial-up incurs a per minute charge. We had to rely on their business center where there were people looking over our shoulders all the time.

This alone will have me looking at alternatives for next year (but I will enjoy my time this year!). I don't know why they can't install that Resort WiFi system; I never mind paying for that as it is really a necessity for me. I can get by on dial-up in a pinch for a day or two, but charging for local calls is just plain obnoxious.

The only saving grace for us was the time we were at the MC it was an abbeviated week due to a national holiday. We trade for our clients (stockbrokers) and we were never comfortable entering orders for 10,000 shares of stocks we were buying or selling when we knew that within two feet of us might be someone trying to front-run the orders.

We are seriously taking our cellphone service and upgrading to $60 a month so we can connect to the internet in our own room, in privacy. Our problem is we are not traveling all the time and these wireless phone companies will not permit us to put the service on hold when we don't travel and use the service.

With datapilot and psc sprint you don't have to add a $60 service to your cell to use your phone. We researched this last year and we use this when we can't get wifi or dialup availability and require internet access/ It also works with other cell services - don't have a cord to attach to my verizon phone or I would try it.
