Man says Frontier Airlines employees tried extorting him for $50 to get nails done, buy weed

It was a military discount Roach said he didn’t ask for.
“Her friend said, we normally charge $100 for this but since you’re in the military we’ll charge you $50,” Roach said.
Roach told Channel 2 investigative reporter Ashli Lincoln he was returning to his Navy base in Los Angeles and said two Frontier gate agents attempted to shake him down for $50 before letting him board his flight at the Atlanta Airport.
“It happened Monday on Veteran’s Day,” he said.

so far I count 3 people who have a Fn Key that finds the dumbest clickbait headlines and automatically spams tug with them.
Is there an app for that?

What Artificial Stupidity application are you using to generate your responses to drive up your message count?

The trashy news feed posts in the TUG Lounge are becoming too numerous and annoying enough that it will soon force me to put the whole TUG Lounge forum on ignore.

Exactly. I have never ignored a single poster, but I have ignored a couple of forums that I did not want clogging my "What's new" list.

By ignoring the forum instead of individuals, I could still see when they post something (maybe worthwhile) in other forums.

It has been a few years since setting these forums on ignore. While using the TUG Search feature to rediscover how I could ignore an entire forum, as in years past, I came across this post.

Ignoring individual chronic posters of click-bait in the TUG Lounge seems like a better approach than ignoring the entire TUG Lounge forum. I experimented by ignoring "M". When I refreshed "What's new" and there were no listed posts from "M", I felt the same relief as when I return from taking out the trash. Why did I not think of this years ago? I am sure one or two "M" copycat offenders in the TUG Lounge will soon gain the same ignored status. If they ever post something worth reading in other forums, I will just have to miss out.

Annoyances (problem) eliminated, for me.

I don't need your approval to my posts. If you want to comment on the link which was provided to prove that the story wasn't from a "friend of a friend". This is a real person who has a recording of airline employees attempting to shake down a customer to "pay" them to do their job. Frontier gave him a $150 voucher which is a tacit admission that the event happened.

But if you want to comment on how the state of media has degenerated to "click bait" or hidden behind "paywalls", have at it. I will continue to provide links to stories to provide documentation of my post. To copy and post the story with too much content would be a violation of forum rules.

I think that it is more significant that the gate employees for Frontier Airlines are really low class.

Maybe I missed it, but I heard nothing in the cellphone video about weed or nails.

Me neither but to me, taking cash from a paid customer isn't really a forced tip and more like extortion, imo.

All of you complainers should remember that you aren't required to participate in threads you don't like. Also, I don't have a problem with anyone complaining. Complaints sometimes add a bit of flavor to a thread at times.
