I want to start by saying I realize I was late to pay my fees but due to lung cancer I have not been able to work. Now that I am released to go back to work I have been shut down due to the virus. I contacted HGV but they seemed less than helpful I asked to see if they would buy back and I was told it would cost me $6000 to pay down my loan as my timeshare which I paid over $30000 for is now worth $5900. I had to take a hardship withdrawal to get the money to pay and now they want to fine me $455.00 and the letter sent to me said they would send me to collections if not paid within 30 days. Some company when half the world is unable to work we cannot use the timeshare but the heartless company wants to send you to collections. By the way I attempted to call recording said I was next in line after 55 minutes call was disconnected.

IMHO, it's time to play a little hardball with these peep.
Don't pay another dime. That's throwing good $$ after bad.

Tell 'em: "Foreclose or take back a deed... Their choice." If they threaten you with a judgment, say, "You'll find that I'm judgment-proof" (no assets not already exempt from creditor-claims), "and I can stop harassment with a Bankruptcy." That will likely put you on a more even playing field.

Note: This is not to be construed as legal advice. Merely the musing of an armchair quarterback. As always, you should consult a lawyer in the field of debtor-creditor relations.
