Has anybody heard anything regarding a reduction of maintenance fees for 2021. With most of the timeshares shutdown, its cost should have been substantially reduced. This should cause a reduction in our fees.

This topic has been discussed in other threads extensively. Summary: unlikely, since the resorts still have expenses (and likely a higher default rate).

Yup, all concessions and restaurants are still closed at many of the resorts. If they are open, they likely just started to open recently.

They should extend the expiration of DPs and SOs since we can't really use them in 2020 and possibly not in 2021 either. Do you think we could ask for this?

You can still use your ownership for next year and if you don’t have restricted SO till the end of 2022. I see maybe MF’s going down a little bit in 2021. Keep in mind a lot of the resorts are already open (except HI, CA, NYC) and we’re fully operational till mid March. So IF things continue to remain open, alot of resorts only closed for three months. I’m electing not to travel for probably the rest of the year, but that’s my choice...not Vistana’s or HGVC.

But that’s just me....I’m more worried about the 120k+ dead Americans and the 35 million unemployed then whether I will get a few hundred bucks back on my timeshare bill at the end of the year.

You can certainly ask, but at some point it will become a moot point because demand will so greatly exceed supply.

However, I do think that it's reasonable to ask Vistana to give priority to owners who were blocked from using their home resort in 2020 and want to book back into their home resort in future years using the CovidSOs.

Right the resort are not making money. But overall operating costs should be less for the first six months of 2020.

Examples:
Less cost for resort staff, lower water, gas, and electricity cost. less cost for repair of appliances, and lower costs for housekeeping staff and supplies.

Less theft of resort items by staff and guests (examples:tools, towels, silverware, soap, etc.,).

These are just some lower costs items. IMHO.
