I think nuts would qualify?

I know that Pork Rind (those crisping things in a bag) are low carb and of course some cheese.

Pork rinds - might kill you but low in carbs. You really have to be conscience of more than just the carb content - look at calories and fat content as well. Also, consider fiber content as it tends to cancel out some of the impact of carbs.

Almonds, no fat/no sugar yogurt, light babybel cheese, light laughing cow cheese, cashews, jello (no sugar added gelatin snacks), select power bars/meal replacements, soy and whey powder protein with water, sunflower seeds. There's plenty more but it really depends on your objectives.

Try looking for low Glycemic Index foods as well - use Google.

The South Beach Diet doctor suggests low-fat cheese sticks, also ricotto cheese with sugar-free syrup mixed in it.

I did Atkins once and I liked salami, smoked sausage, etc.

Also try celery with cream cheese spread, but make sure it doesn't have carbs.

Low Carb

I have been doing Atkins for several years to loose weight and keep my blood sugar under control. Her are some of my favorites:

Cheese
nuts- watch the salted ones My fave is the unsalted peanuts
home made jerky- the commercial stuff is loaded with sugar and salt
thin sliced deli meat rolled tightly into a meat stick
Veggies- Especially green ones- good way to get your fiber

Works for me. I lost 130 pounds doing it.:cheer:

Strawberries have 5 carbs in 8 berries, so that is my favorite. Peaches have about 10 carbs in a medium fruit, so those are good snacks also.

Here's another that I haven't tried yet, but I'm going to soon. There are low carb tortillas that have 4 carbs each. If you take 3 for 12 carbs, quarter them and then fry, you can have nachos and cheese for let than 15 carbs.

Regards.
Joe
