Love WM Discovery Bay/WA!
Lovely weather (esp coming from brutal PHX summer heat)
Lovely to see fog rolling in & beautiful lake right next to it with spectacular views!
Free, fast wifi, nice staff. Parking right next to unit; 2 spaces per unit, clearly marked. No sales staff!
Pool could use some TLC/cleaning but glad it is functional.
Unit is certainly dated (by HGV stds) but functional; nice space.

Love Sequim next door; nice, clean; lots of lavender everywhere incl many touristy lav farms; some straight on 101.
Quietest Costco with the shortest lines ever!
(+ nice to stock up on some basics)
No Winco or Aldi here; Winco at Kitsap. WMT's at Sequim & Port Angeles, if needed.
Sunny Farms country store in Sequim cute & many farms/farmstands; Any Recs, folks?
Nice Hike up Hurricane Ridge at Olympic National park this morning: the last 1.5 miles on the road is closed Mon-Thu until 7/3 for construction.
We had lovely views in the morning & spectacular hike! wall to wall sunshine (but cold, as expected). Was getting cloudy & foggy by the time we left. Parking pretty tight at TH but ok at the temp visitor center (nice flushing toilets with soap & sunning water too here; none at small parking lot at final TH at top). For folks planning to go there, leave early to get there by 730a on summer weekends...

At WM Discovery Bay: Thankfully very quiet so far and not too loud with July 4th coming soon.
*NO Murphy bed in living room, unlike many (? most) WM units, ?
hate the twin beds in the 2nd Bedroom :-(
Older units, so hear every thump from folks on top (mobility unit for mom, which is very nice as NO stairs!!) & lots of creaks/squeaks.
Parking right outside the door is very nice!!
Electric blinds are a bit temperamental.
Carpets are clean.
Unit had a mushy odor; guess older, damp; vented it out; nice deck with grill on deck as is usual at WM.
Water pressure in showers & hot water was very nice!
Nice BIG laundry room.
Furniture a bit tired looking/cheap but functional (esp for being in paradise)...
They have 6 mobility units per staff (I thought they only had 2). Lovely views everywhere!
Sunrise 515a; sunset 915p (although we had plenty of light before 515a this am & after 915p last night)...
Lovely weather: mix of rain/sun/clouds, classic PNW weather!
Brought our rain jackets & layers; all have been used, so very happy!
Seaside Next; even cooler weather there! (I hear they are very aggressive with their sales team there)...

Nice staff at WM Discovery Bay!
The King bed conversion kit worked well & they converted the 2 twins to a king bed & Wow! Finally can sleep better today!
Madison Falls & Spruce Railroad Tunnel, Devil's Punchbowl with spectacular water of Lake Crescent was beautiful!
Plenty of people for a Monday, today!

Love the location for WM Discovery Bay! So many places to visit & things to do!
Today, loved the short drive to Port Townsend (& then the ferry to Whidbey Island & drive to the spectacular Deception Pass State Park, the most visited state park in WA)! Lovely views/Hiking/Kayaking!
Super cheap ferry: $2.50 for seniors; $5 for adults; car+ driver, only $21
Nice system, for those who need access to elevator to get to Passenger deck (vs just climb up the stairs). It was super windy (& cold) on the Sun deck (outside); almost everyone was in the Passenger deck...
Despite my thick Costco Raincoat & fleece cap, it is still cold...And it is almost July... God Bless all of you WA/PNW folks... Kinda miss the sun (although not out our brutal PHX heat)... Mom's aches & pains are much worse with the cold, humid weather, reminding why we love PHX (not in the heat though)...
Wish we had discovered WM before (& I could see myself coming here to WM Discovery Bay, every year)...

We really like Discover Bay as well. Port Townsend is a fun town to visit. We usually then move on after a week to WM Victoria via the ferry at Port Angeles. If you return you should think of visiting Victoria. The property is right on the bay and easy walking to downtown via the walkway along th bay. It goes right past the WM property.

Yes pls; was planning to go today for Canada Day but had something come up, so couldn't go today. Plan to go in next few days; staying at Marriott/Delta Ocean Pointe, overlooking Inner Harbour (nice lounge with views of Inner Harbour) on a soon-to-expire, Marriott FNC...
Absolutely loving it here!

Sunny Farms Country Store, in Sequim was very nice!
Nice people, nice produce, decent prices.
Nice local Loganberries & raspberries; the pint container was very generous & overflowing!

Visited a nice Lavender Farm in Sequim, the :Lavender capital of North America; their yearly Lavender festival is coming up in 2 weeks. >20 Lavender farms in Sequim; we visited B&B Lavender farm; they had >10 cultivars growing; some at peak bloom; many just starting.

Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe has a nice rest area/visitor center fairly close to WM Discovery Bay with nice totem poles (+ their hotel 7 Cedars with a casino & restaurants)

The Tribe also is managing the Dungeness River Nature Center (with the Audubon society) & managing the Dungeness Railroad Trail/Park; nice flat, beautiful walk, in a Rails-To-Trails success, with a Hurricane Coffee shop, right on site. Lots of walkers/bikers there...
Fairly close, 20 minutes from WM Discovery Bay (& minutes to Sequim with WMT/Safeway/Costco for any refills needed)!

re WM Discovery Bay: Pool/hot tub in enclosed separate Bldg.
Nice, clean shower area (3 showerheads in joint area, changing room, rest room & sink etc for Men; presume same for women).
Nice pool temp; 4 ft deep at max; some stains, they need to clean; hot tub, nice temp but jets are weak; need cleaning; also stains, needs cleaning but glad to have them here!

BBQ Grills on the Patio/Balcony very nice (& convenient)! Perfect BBQ Chicken/Veggies/Corn on the cob!
Folks with unit above ours are super loud (esp late at night; lots of thumping around; also late night laundry run after 11pm :-(..
If one doesn't need a mobility access room, just get a townhome (where entire section is yours & no-one is above you)...

how did you book Discovery Bay? Are you a WM owner or RCI? I’ve always wanted to visit that area again, went to Olympic National park a few years ago and that was a favorite

WA seems to have a cluster of WM properties in prime locations.

Loved our stay here! No sales staff. Lovely location, right on the water! Right next to Sequim & Port Angeles, the gateway to ONP!
Yup, WM does have lots of properties in PNW in nice locations here, esp if one loves the outdoors... No HGV in these places unfortunately..

Honestly did not know about them, so did not look or ask but per Google seems like they usually come later, as you point out (but may come sooner this year with the El Nino, as you point out)...
