It sounds as if Vidanta makes the upgrades sound so attractive by stressing their potential increase in value. At each next higher level this became more explicit in the pitch! And since there is less inventory at each next higher level, it is more plausible. Resale sounds more and more mythical!

Vidanta has "learned" how to stop resales/transfers. It used to be one maintenance fee to transfer. Then it became 10% of the original contract cost to transfer. Those transfer fees are long gone, probably for around 20 years now. And on top of that, there are the very high resort fees that have been added if one was to trade into Vidanta.

Aimfair will probably be able to rent your timeshare for more than the maintenance fee. Of course, you also have to pay Aimfair for the rental they get. But it might still make you some money on the rental handled by them.
The one problem might be you are "stuck" with the week if it is not rented by them. Then, you can use it or bank it with an exchange company.
