1) Is there a vacation destination you wish to visit most of the time or on a regular basis? if so where? Not particularly we almost purchased in Breckenridge this past weekend and could see ourselves going there every two years.

2) Do you want to visit your home resort at least half the time, or do you want to trade more than half the time? I would say trade because we like to see different places

3) What are your 5 top trade destinations? Galapagos, South Africa (safari), UK, Spain, Switzerland

4) How many people do you usually travel with - total, including yourself? 2-4

5) Can you travel any time, or are you locked into the school schedule? School Schedule (wife is a teacher)

6) Can you make firm plans 12 or more mos. in advance? Yep

7) Can you vacation for a full week at a time? Yep

8) What level of accommodations do you prefer on a scale of 1 to 5 stars? 4-5

9) How much can you afford to spend upfront, without financing? 15-20

10) How much can you afford to spend every year for a maintenance fee that will come due right after Christmas, and increase each year? We can budget for whatever but not sure what to even expect

11) Are you a detail oriented planner? Yep

12) Do you understand that once you buy a timeshare, it may be very difficult to sell or give away, and you are responsible for all fees, until you do? Completely

You may be best off with an every other year unit at Breck; that will fulfill one of your vacation desires.

Your proposed trading destinations won't work with timesharing (timeshares on Galapagos?).

I’d go with an every other year in breck for the time you want to go. There are some really nice CO timeshares to buy into. Based on your desired destinations, I’m not sure dropping 15K is ideal. If you wanted to travel around the US and Caribbean most of the time I’d suggest it.

A holiday ski week will cost you 15-20 at a nice resort. Of course much cheaper if you wanted Colorado in the summer. Another option is renting TS and vacation home rentals (airbnb) instead of owning.
