Hello WSJ gurus,
I've owned at WKV for many years and have been very happy with my ability to vacation in Arizona or to exchange StarOptions to visit other Starwood resorts. St John is a favorite location as I lived in St Thomas as a child and still have family located there.
In the past I've used the Starwood online reservation system and have found good selections of weeks and unit sizes. However, starting in 2015, the reservation system has very few WSJ weeks available - I really don't know what has changed the availability so such an extent.
This year, I resolved to start booking as early as I could for the weeks wanted. DH is a teacher and so summer vacation can start as early as the last few days in June. There is nothing showing for WKV except for a few isolated days here and there - no 1 bedrooms or studios at all!
So, for the past 3 nights I have identified a unit that will be available for reservation the next day, waited until midnight, within 1 second, hit the search button hoping to grab the single unit I saw. It takes less than 4 seconds for the display to change to a) state that the week is open to reservation followed immediately by b) this week is no longer available! So, at about 15 seconds after midnight, I search again for a
week, no availability shows for any unit open for reservation.
I quickly run another search (about 12:10) and now can see only availability over the next week that is not yet open for reservation.
Please advise me where I am going wrong and what techniques should I be using to be able to view a good selection of available units during the time when those units are open for booking.
I appreciate your time, effort and willingness to share

PS: Starwood agent was very nice, but shed no light on the questions.
