we are flying into Kauai on a Thursday and then check into KBC on Saturday for a week stay Any ideas of a good clean place to stay?
We only need a one bedroom. A kitchen or being on the beach is not necessary.
Thanks

I'm sure you'll get some other answers but the Hotel in with Kauai Beach Villas
Comes to mind. I think it's run by Aqua. Otherwise I would stay at the Marriott
CourtYard in Kapaa.

Kauai hotels

Thanks for your reply Jeff. We are now looking at the hotel in Kauai Beach Villas.
Congratulations on your daughter's upcoming wedding.

Thanks Jane.

That hotel in with Kauai Beach Villas is in a great setting and is convenient for
Getting around the island. The pool is really nice too.

+1 for Aqua Kauai Beach resort. We have stayed there when we needed an extra night. Very nice property, for a reasonable price.

Aloha,
Last year and in a few weeks we will be using http://www.kauaishoreshotel.com/ which is also managed by Aqua. The rate last year was very economical. We booked the extra nights for next Dec and Jan early this year and got incredibly good rates. When I looked at the web site couple of months back, rates were up. I now notice that they are having a cyber Monday (11/30) big sale.

Years ago we stayed one night at the Kauai Inn http://www.kauaiinn.com/ and the Aloha Beach Hotel (separate years). The Kauai Inn was better than we expected for the price. The Aloha Beach Hotel was good enough and we would have considered using it again, but it was in decline; subsequent years' reviews were discouraging; if/when (perhaps already?) management addresses the issues, we would consider it again.

Beware of Waipouli Beach Resort and Spa by Outrigger when booking.

I looked into booking two nights at $141.00 a night plus taxes and fees. The tax would have been $18.92 a night and the resort fee would have been $15.00 a night. I could have lived with that.

But the kicker was the cleaning fee of $105.00 for two nights bringing the room from the basic fee $141.00 a night to $229.92 a night, $88.92 a night more, $177.84 more total for the two nights.

There was not mention of this on the confirmation. I found out about the cleaning charge when I called the hotel to make sure they had the reservations and asked about the total charges. Very deceptive.

I've stayed at both the Aqua kauai beach villas and the Marriott coconut coast. I actually preferred the Marriott slightly better but they were both great for the price. Fyi I got both hotels by bidding on Priceline.

Aloha,
While driving by we noticed that the former Aloha Beach Hotel is closed while being renovated into a Hilton Garden Inn. The sign says opening soon. We have no idea when that will be but would not be surprised if it starts up with promotional pricing.

Hilton Garden Inn is now taking reservations for May 9 and following. I'm looking forward to Hilton being back on Kauai.
