Looking for options after WSJ April 2016

We have 5 nights booked at the WSJ in mid-April and looking for suggestions after we check out. We are Starwood owners but there is no availability beyond our 5 nights except at ~$700/night. We have to travel through the STT on way home, and we could also travel through PR. 2 adults, 4 young (7 and younger) children. So we need a 1br but really 2br unit. Pool is a must for our kids! Any suggestions on where we could add 2-3 nights in a reasonably priced (and sized) unit somewhere between StJ and heading home?

I have also been looking at this in winter 2016.
STT does seem pricey for a stopover. I would plan it around where your flight stops over SJU on JetBlue would be a good option. Some nice hotels there convenient for an East Coast weekend break there and a little less pricey.
Also though not an island, there is Miami or FLL which will be warm and lower cost.
