We have never been to Cabo but have heard rave reviews. We would like to go through RCI and are looking for suggestions as to timeshares we should look into. Any time of year - for 2 people in 2021. Thank you.

We stayed at 2 different locations when we went. Villa del Palmar and it's sister location Villa del Arco are nice and right on the beach in Cabo San Lucas. We also stayed Vidanta in San Jose del Cabo. The resorts and area are VERY different.

The Villa Group resorts are quite nice. Arco is newer. There's a Walmart not far away. Cabo San Lucas is close to the Arch and the marina. And Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo is there.

The Vidanta resort is a bit more upscale from Villa Group. But, since we were there the put in a music area. San Jose del Cabo is more laid back. There's a nice town square with an outdoor art show certain days. There's restaurants within a short walk.

The two areas are just a couple of miles apart. From the main road from the airport you turn left to go to San Jose del Cabo and right to go to Cabo San Lucas on route 1.

We always stay in San Jose del Cabo. There are a number of Resorts available. Cabo Azul is very nice and just a 1 mile walk to downtown San Jose del Cabo. El Chinos has grilled fish and shrimp Tacos for 35 pesos. Also try Costco Travel many times you can get pretty good deals that include airfare and transportation to and from the Airport. Royal Solaris is a nice middle class AI. Many times it is available through Costco. The only problem with it is you never feel like leaving.

We are just finishing a 3 week stay in Cabo. 1 week at Solaris, 1 week at Coral Baja (Worldmark), and our last week at Cabo Azul. Patti was offered $500 USA, 2 round trip airfares, and 3 weeks free at VIDANTA (even if you did not buy) for going to their sales pitch.

We have been to Cabo San Lucas several times, staying at Pueblo Bonito properties. Pueblo Bonito Rose and Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos are next to each other, share amenities and are right on Medano Beach. They are within walking distance of the marina and the main part of town. We've been really pleased and plan to visit again when we are able. There is another property, Pueblo Bonito Sunset, the resort handling the timeshare presentations, that feels a little more luxurious, but we haven't stayed there. It's more remote. Most of our stays were booked through RCI, although we booked an all inclusive through an internet travel site once. I can't say enough nice things about them. (I should post a review.....) They are currently offering Covid testing with all-inclusive packages. Just a disclaimer, our stays were pre-covid, in September, 2019. The temperature there today, March 5, is 73. Wish I was there!!

Biggest question is "what are you looking for?"

Read a couple of guide books on Cabo to determine which zone matches your travel style. Want to be in a town with authentic Mexico feel - San Jose del Cabo is your answer. Just want to bake on the beach and be pampered, then the corridor is a good option; several good resorts there but transportation is an issue. Looking for the nightlife and party atmosphere? You want to stay in Cabo St Lucas itself.

One of my favorite all-time resorts overall is Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. Good mix of solitude and access to CSL. Great views over the Pacific, and earns it's name of Sunset Beach (this pic from our balcony). AI is optional here, so you can skip if you like to cook or dine out a lot. The food on site is pretty darn good though if you do the AI.

That said, we will be in SJC again next time as it is more of what we want in Mexico. We stayed at Grand Mayan there last time, but with the new all day party thing going on there I don't think I would recommend it anymore.

You might consider Worldmark with at least a 7000 points membership. This allows you to exchange with all of the exchange companies. Worldmark members can use a RCI for Worldmark link on the Worldmark website. Often times there are many Mexico exchanges and bargains at RCI or II.

Many of the Mexican resorts have only one resort you can reserve. Some have many nice resorts on beaches that you can reserve and this is what I like.

You probably should not buy anything Cabo specific without hanging out in Cabo for a few weeks, imo.

We have stayed in San Jose and Cabo. Ultimately, we bought at Arco because it was close to Cabo, swimable beach and the facility have sister resorts allowed the ability for completely different feels where you were staying while having access to all. It’s really going to be what you like.
