Which one? Training into Waterloo. Seeing a play in West End. Then headed to LHR next day.
I’m platinum, in case any have great elite lounge. Thanks, Elaine

St Ermin's is our favorite London hotel for the service, charm, and location. We walk back from the West End while we find it necessary to find transport to get back to Mayfair...YMMV. No lounge, but they provide a wonderful complimentary breakfast for Platinum Elites and the bar/restaurant is lovely (though not free). I've read that the JW Grosvenor has a wonderful lounge (though we've not been).

The one time we tried the Sheraton Park Lane I encountered the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a Marriott. We arrived at 2PM and they had already given away our room. The CSR offered neither apology nor compensation (nor to move us to one of the nearby Marriotts) and her attitude was basically, 'It sucks to be you'.

We loved the Grosvenor. Great lounge and wonderful location. Friendly service.

We (wife, two elementary school age boys and me) stayed at St. Ermin's in March. We loved the hotel. It was charming, but that also means old - small elevator, oddly opening windows, small tv but decent amount of plugs. Walking distance to Buckingham and other places. Close to both Starbucks and Pret-a-manger. Afternoon tea was great - assuming cost is not an issue. We would definitely stay there again.

Also, I don't remember any Elite benefits - maybe there was a room upgrade??? There is no lounge, it is an old hotel. Extra water, maybe?

We stayed at the JW Grosvenor recently. Large room, at best the upgrade was location. But we had no complaints. The lounge was huge and lovely evening service, did not even go out for dinner. We didn’t go for breakfast. We thought it was pretty nice. We used taxis, Uber and the tubes. We would go there again in a heartbeat.

Loved the grovesners last time, charm, ease, security. Hubby decided on westin London city due to location to tube, eateries, attratractions. Nice, but not grovsners. Got in 15000 steps a day🤪. Then got covid. Good food, adventure, nice hotel. Looking forward to Amsterdam after norway

It's funny that you mentioned the 15000 steps. For our 8-day trip to Europe, we averaged 7 miles of walking everyday. No wonder the Euros are so skinny. That and the smoking, I guess.

Platinum and above gets you free (and quite delicious) breakfast in the restaurant. We’ve also gotten room upgrades…but that is obviously dependent on availability.

Oh, man. We were rushing to Pret-a-manger and Starbucks each morning before our touristy things. If only we had realized it.
