If you bank the week in interval or vistana you have two years to use the unit or banked options. You’re not Guaranteed the same week the following year. You would be subject to reservation rules. So you would prob be able to use the star options in your home resort at 8 months out, assuming you own a voluntary resort or any resort at 8 months if you own mandatory resort. Of course, the interval rules are the same for all systems when banking lockouts, whether is vistana or Marriott.

As mentioned, book your 1BR at 12 months for your use year and bank the Studio options and book at 8 months or less depending on what week you want in your non use year as Studios are much more available at 8 months than 1BR. It also depends on what resort. e.g. Maui - the only real problem could be if you want the studio for the high use weeks like Presidents Day/4th July/Thanksgiving and possibly the late June through August period.
