Lock-off at a later date?

I reserved my week. When I did I selected full villa lock-off.
Plans changed and now I want to split the reservation to the lock-offs.
When I texted with agent, He said that they could not ot split the reservation and I could only cancel and then make new reservations (which of course don't exist.)
Is this correct? Had anyone had success?

I'd call, you'll may need to talk with a supervisor. The ability to later split is not guaranteed but if one pushes forward you can usually get it done. A reservation in a L/O does not guarantee the ability to split later as resorts sometimes determine how many can be split to guarantee availability in one or more categories. I know some have had difficulty splitting later but I'm not recalling a report of anyone being unsuccessful in the end.
