Let's Play Music! Slack Key with Cyril Pahinui & Friends

We are fortunate in the Seattle area to have an annual Hawaiian music festival organized by Cyril Pahinui (2014 listing: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/607125 ) attended by top flight talent (2012 example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOui_UafXPQ ). We are on Cyril Pahinui’s email list. We recently received information about a Kickstarter campaign to fund the recording of the untold story of the Hawaiian Music Renaissance, Moea No I Ka Pu‘uwai E Waimānalo, Straight From the Heart of Waimānalo.

This will be our first participation in kickstarter. We have no financial interest / connection with it or any of the musicians involved. We’re just sharing the information.

LOVE great slack key, Jacknsara! We have supported George Kahumoku, Jr for a similar Legends of Slack Key DVD series. He had chosen Brother Noland and Dennis Kamakahi just a very few months before Dennis was diagnosed with cancer and died very shortly afterward. I believe they are using video compilations for his video since he died so suddenly.

We are frequent visitors of Masters of Slack Key at Napili Kai while we are on Maui. We try to take in as much great Hawaiian music including slack key whenever we can. Thanks for posting.
