Legacy Golf Resort vs. Sheraton Desert Oasis

I am loooking to make an RCI trade into the Phoenix/Scottsdale area for March 2013. Based upon various reviews, the Legacy Golf Resort and Sheraton Desert Oasis seem to be at the head of the class. Which one is better? Are there any better RCI resorts in your opinion?

Any opinions on these two resorts (or others) would be appreciated.

The Sheraton is in a much nicer area of town. It is located in North Scottsdale. There are many options for shopping, dining, and entertainment in this upscale area.

The Legacy Golf Resort, on the other hand, is in South Phoenix. The immediate neighborhood is fine, but it is close to some really bad areas. As a result, it is much more isolated from the places you're likely to want to visit. You don't want to just drive around aimlessly from this location.

As for the resorts themselves, Legacy Golf Resort has much more spacious grounds than the Sheraton, but I would say that the quality of the two resorts is pretty equal.

The best timeshares in the greater Phoenix area are: Four Seasons Aviara, Westin Kierland Villas, and Marriott's Canyon Villas...but all three exchange in II. I think you have chosen the best two choices for RCI.

I agree with Steve's assessment of the two resorts as we've stayed in both of them. We have stayed a few times at Legacy when our son was attending ASU so it was a convenient location for those visits. I, too, think Scottsdale is a better location.

Hi Riggio,

We're actually booked in at the Sheraton Desert Oasis this May (2012) for the reasons noted by others. The area and it's convenience is what sold us. If you want PM (if that's possible) me after May and I'll give you my impressions, suggestions etc...

PS. I notice you're from Boston. We too are from the east coast of Canada about 7 hours north of you so in some cases, we can appreciate your weather. We've never been to the desert before so we're looking forward to it.
