Very interesting conversation with RHC last week. I asked them to search to see whether anything was available in New York City, and I was told that my account had been locked. Although my fees were not late until the 15th of January, once they sent out my bill for maintenance fees, they locked the account until the fees were paid, and could not search for availability until the account became unlocked.

Just another little administrative hassle with RHC. Still, as I said originally, I was willing to put up with some incompetence in order to get some of the resorts they have.

Steve, you seem to have a knack for finding (or experiencing first) the RHC quirks.

Let's hope you only have to pay once for them to unlock your account.

Steve-

I think you have points?? We have the old weeks version. For what it is worth, I have never been able to make a reservation into the next year until I paid the MF in advance. I often reserve in November for the following July-Sept which puts me into my next use year. I have always had to pay the MF for the next year. So maybe they are now applying it to the points side as well.

I have always expected to pay my annual MF before making a reservation. What surprised me is that my account was locked and I was not even able to search until my next year's fees were paid, even though they were not yet due.

Maybe the fees are due by Jan 15th but the stop your access after Dec 31. I don't know this to be true but maybe. To be sure, we need a volunteer to test this in Dec. :D

I'd volunteer but I hope to have my 2010 plans booked before then. ;)
