Last minute reservation date change!

We are visiting our timeshare at Timbers at Island Park, ID, (near Yellowstone) for the first time this month. We were all set with our airline reservations and car rental to leave on Aug. 30th. Two days ago, the front desk called to confirm our reservation for AUGUST 23RD! Yikes!

This is a fixed week, but of course the actual date changes yearly, so before I made airline reservations several month ago, I called to make sure what our date was and was told it was Aug. 30th! However, I remember at the time, the person I spoke to told me she was new and couldn't answer all my questions. So yesterday, we had a bit of a scramble cancelling and changing our reservations, and we are all set to go Aug. 23rd, now. But, I am not a fan of last minute resets!

And if you are wondering, no, this resort doesn't send out any kind of confirmation to owners, and no, they wouldn't change the date to the 30th. While we are there, I will see if I can get a print out of our 2025 date from the front desk.

Val Chatelle has a fixed rotating schedule, and if you lose that rotation calendar, you are sunk. I keep a PDF on my computer.

If you own summer, you could rotate from week 24-39, so you never know when it will be, unless you look at that schedule. Winter is weeks 50-52, 1-14. Plenty of owners have arrived for their week to find out their week is passed.

Ha! I once matched an SFX exchange. I had requested Grand Luxxe in Nuevo Vallarta and when the exchange came through I did not read it carefully enough to realize they had mistakenly matched us into the Riviera Maya location south of Cancun. I noticed the problem 24 hours ahead of check in. It literally did not get fixed until we were walking down the jetway in LAX to board our flight to Puerto Vallarta. Talk about stressful!

Timbers at Island Park is an interesting place.
Close enuff to Yellowstone to be useful, yet
far enuff away from everything to be nowhere.

There's a little country store just down the highway
where I suspect one of our CC#'s was stolen from.
Luckily, we had others with us.

Timbers at Island Park was where my kids got to see a huge cattle drive, right in front of our unit. They were fascinated, and they were about 8, 10 and 12 at that time.
