Destination exchanges may look bad for me this year. I deposited my week in June of 2005 for Jacksonhole/Yellowstone area. I had know idea how early you need to deposit for these areas(now I know :( ). I have together about 20 timeshares being searched for last week of May, and the last 2 weeks of June into the 1st 2 weeks of July. Love the west, mountains, blue skys, wild animals. Any suggestion on a destination I may get if I put a new search for 2006 in April, (yes, that's only about a month before I want to travel, and please don't chuckle :D ). Been to Sedona, wouldn't mind going back. And have never been to Utah or Colorado.
If I had the money I could get a nice place right now through VRBO, but I can't afford it.
My son will be graduating for H.S. is 2 years, my timeshare goes up for sale then. :)
The vacations I have been on have been unforgetable, and beautiful resorts. But, I'm tired of playing the exchange "game". Thanks for your comments.

I don't have any suggestions for your exchange challenge, but I do have a comment.

It seems as though your plan (as I quoted) is backwards. Now, with your son in high school, you are limited to school vacation periods, generally the most difficult exchanges to get. Once your son is out of high school, you should be able to vacation more in shoulder and off seasons, making it easier to exchange to many more destinations.

That, plus planning well in advance, should make timesharing perfect for you!

Wow! That's what I thought too! Your son is graduating and THEN you are going to sell? Your in the perfect position to travel when you want and where you want. My son's a junior and I'm looking forward to many more vacations (not just SUMMER vacations!) ;)

Even at this late date, through RCI there are some very nice places in Colorado in your timeframe:

35 Resorts have availability
