For the past month, I have checked Last Call inventory many times a day.

Typically I will see 50-100 resort in featured destinations at any one time. Mostly Orlando, but an occasional California week and some other eastern resorts.

For the past week, there have been only "5" in featured destinations.

Some people have said the extra vacation inventory has increased. I don;t know, I haven't checked it.

Has the last call inventory been reassigned? Is it a glitch?

Tuggers have been given all different excuses from the VG's, but none seem accurate.

So my question is
what happened to all the inventory? Is this a permanent change?

That could be a disappearing benefit as well

There seems to be no rhyme nor reason for RCI to deplete the Last Call, so why would you think that resorts in the 45-day window at 9K or less points now would always be available to points members?

It seems to me that RCI would rather rent these weeks on various websites rather than to continue to benefit its members. They are cutting off their nose to spite their face. They will lose members in droves, I guarantee it. Many people rely on Last Call for additional vacations and will be devastated at its disappearance.

Check out Snaptravel.com. It looks like it is owned by RCI and rentals are available there. The rental prices seem high, and it could be that RCI inventory is going here. You don't have to belong to RCI to participate.

I appreciate everyone comments. However Madge will not answer this post if the thread keeps getting bumped. She works from the bottom up, not the top down.
So please do not post on this thread until we hear from Madge, after she answers we can post all we want on the exchanging board regarding the official RCI answer.

Thanks
Dave

This morning the Location options have been reduced to 3 categories:
Featured Destinations = 5 resorts in Weston, FL or Nuevo Vallarta (Oct/Nov)
Eastern Canada = 23 in October, 25 in November
Puerto Vallarta = 17 in October, 15 in November

CaliDave,

Featured Destinations are available only if the space is at strong risk of going unused, and it can vary substantially from one day to the next. We will also make adjustments based on our best predictions for whether the space would be confirmed if offered in Extra Vacations. It's also important to note that downward VEP still applies to Last Call vacations. This can impact the results of your searches.

This question was also addressed here.

Madge,

When you determine VEP for Individual Members, do you use our first timeshare or a composite of all our RCI timeshares?

Last Call categories

I have been very disappointed by the sudden radical decrease in Last Call offerings. Seems resorts only in the chosen areas are offered and if you are interested in any other area, you are S.O.L.

A Branson category has never been featured since I have been checking 5+ times per day. For the longest while SE Florida had a very strong offering. Now that I'd like to escape in November - not one of the chosen areas therefore there is no chance of getting a Last Call. And the areas presently being offered are limited in appeal.

Once Lehigh Resort Club was offered in massive numbers. Resort 0101 was always the top of the list. Now, I never see a week offered there.

What was going to be a nice $99 studio is offfered as a $349+ "extra vacation". Seems strange to me.

And to talk to a Vacation Assistant is worthless. I get absolutely no help from them. Just an offer, make that a "limited time, SPECIAL" offer to extend my RCI membership for another 3 years when I presently have 3 years 8 months remaining on my present membership.

Thank you.

riverdees05,

VEP is based on the specific deposit being used. When a deposit is not being used, such as with Extra Vacations, an RCI Guide can enter the resort ID you'd like to use for VEP reference. However, when you're searching online, our system automatically uses the first 4 digits of your RCI ID number. One of the options we hope to provide members with in the future is the ability to select a timeshare ownership for VEP reference.

Mr. Airport,

I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment. The locations featured in Last Call and Featured Destinations change frequently. The last-minute nature of the space availability for these programs does lend itself to fluctuations. I responded to this issue in this thread as well.
