I went to Hot N Juicy Crawfish for lunch today. I'd been meaning to go for awhile. Its in a strip mall on Spring Mountain just before Decatur (4810 Spring Mountain).

If you love crawfish or crab, and don't mind getting up to your elbows in it, this is your place. They sell the fish by the pound, and had shrimp (with the heads), crawfish, snow crab, king crab and dungenous (sp?) crab today. Most of the year they also have Texas Blue, but not right now. You can also get fried platters they call appetizers (I didn't see these), oysters, corn on the cob, baked potatoes, white rice, and rolls.

You get to choose your own seasoning. Each seasoning comes in mild, medium, and hot. Mild is actually spicy, medium is hot, and I don't think anyone in the life of the restaurant has ever ordered hot and survived. The seasonings are Cajun, lemon pepper, garlic butter (with tons of minced garlic), and Hot N Juicy, which is a combination of all three.

You'll notice when you walk in that all the tables are covered with plastic picnic tablecloth. There's also a roll of paper towels at each table. When your food comes, each pound arrives in a big plastic bag, tied loosely at the top, and the shellfish is swimming in juicy seasonings. At this point they offer you a bib and a crab cracker. Take both. Oh, and take your rings off and perhaps your watch, too.

Is it messy? Yes, but that's half the fun. We had the crawfish and snow crab. It was the freshest, sweetest seafood I've ever had in Nevada. It was a lot of fun, and you can make it a "vacation experience" you can tell folks back home all about.

If you are staying at any of the timeshares to the West of the Strip it will be fairly close.

Go, and enjoy!

Hot N Juicy Crawfish 4810 Spring Mountain (west of Chinatown, on the North side of the street). Phone 891-8889. Opens at noon for lunch, and closes around 7 or 8 PM. Family run.

Fern,
Can you give a bit more insight as to where it is from....say.....Ballys or the Wynn?

As you go North on The Strip the last street you will cross before Wynn is Spring Mountain (on the West side...on the East it is Sands). You'd turn left on Spring Mountain and go maybe three miles? I don't know exactly, I didn't go that way.

I went out Tropicana (or you could go out Flamingo) to Arville. I turned Right on Arville and Left on Spring Mountain. Tropicana and Arville is where Orleans Casino is.

If you go on Spring Mountain from The Strip, you will also pass Chinatown, on the left shortly after you cross I-15. There's a big 99 Ranch Market there (Chinese Supermarket with super fresh fish and wonderful produce).

It is your insider tips (like this one) that earns you those big bucks!! (just kidding) Thanks for the (yum) tip. I remember (years ago) going to an all you can eat seafood place near Washington DC. It must have looked the same as this place! You could buy shrimp, crab or lobster (each was more costly of course) but, if you bought lobster you could have any of the three. That was twenty five years ago but I still remember it thanks to your tip!:D

I love TUG

As a cajun stuck in MN, finding good crawfish has always been a problem.
We are going to Vegas in soon and I can already taste those mud bugs.

We just happened to be invited to a birthday party there last Saturday night.

It's a great little joint, with a fun and very casual atmosphere. We chose medium heat and it was plenty HOT!

It's an easy drive from the Strip. It's right across from the Lucky's Store on Spring Mountain.
