Thanks all - I secured a room on Cocoa Beach and will head there the night before, fingers crossed it goes off as scheduled! Very excited about this diversion from the mouse for a day!

Well, I'm back home without seeing a launch, but not for a lack of trying, I still had the TS getaway for tonight to watch tomorrow and then 2 nights at a hotel to cover all basis until the 3rd launch date if needed. But, the financial gods were against me. I was ok with the cost changing our flights home, but the rental car extension was a deal breaker. $323 to add one day and I over $900 if I needed to stay until Tuesday. Not even a new reservation solved that issue.

I'm not dissapointed though, it was great being in the area last Sunday night and Monday morning. Strangers al around, but all may have well been your best friend. Great conversations everywhere I went with everyone around. People engaged with each other, all telling their story about where they were from, why they were there and whatever space stories that had to share. It was a good time and I hope to try it again someday!

My best friend was at the launch site by 4 a.m. on Monday. Her daughter had gotten passes for the family to view from the causeway. They didn't scrub the launch until close to 8:30 a.m. so it was a looonnnnnggggg morning for them all (she said they were up at 2 a.m.) But she said they had a lot of fun as there was a group of them, they'd brought breakfast stuff and all. They're going to try it again tomorrow.

From NASA.gov ...

NASA to Stand Down on Artemis I Launch Attempts in Early September, Reviewing Options
After standing down on today’s Artemis I launch attempt when engineers could not overcome a hydrogen leak in a quick disconnect, an interface between the liquid hydrogen fuel feed line and the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, mission managers met and decided they will forego additional launch attempts in early September.

Over the next several days, teams will establish access to the area of the leak at Launch Pad 39B, and in parallel conduct a schedule assessment to provide additional data that will inform a decision on whether to perform work to replace a seal either at the pad, where it can be tested under cryogenic conditions, or inside the Vehicle Assembly Building.

To meet the requirement by the Eastern Range for the certification on the flight termination system, currently set at 25 days, NASA will need to roll the rocket and spacecraft back to the VAB before the next launch attempt to reset the system’s batteries. The flight termination system is required on all rockets to protect public safety.

Any launch is amazing. Tonight is Falcon-9.

I only pay attention to the biggest orangey rockets.
Also, I won't buy a lottery ticket unless the jackpot is +1 bil.
Anything less just won't cut it.
