Lakeshore vs Grande Vista - Walking Trails

Wife loves taking a walk around Grande Vista. I notice a Lakeshore is available and wondering about trying it out.
No kids.
Walking Path is most important.
Pool to sit next to is second
Grill near units so I can make steak and shrimp

Neither has any real walking paths. Some may want or try to walk on the golf course cart paths, but that generally isn't permitted. Grande Vista has a walking path on their map, but it is really just through the parking lots of the resort.

How long a Walking Path do you need? The Grande Lakes walking path that leads from the MVC past the JW and RC is waterfront and quite beautiful and the googly thing says is it 0.9 miles and 20 minutes.

In general, I would take Lakeshore over GV any day of the week.

Probably not what they have in mind, but isn't there a "path" along I-Drive?

I highly recommend the Tibet-Butler Preserve for walking/hiking trails. If you don't mind driving a bit, it's about a 30 minute drive from either resort.

There is a nice path at Grande Vista. We usually stay over at Golf Area at back walk around Units, over the bridge near the pool around the other units then over to the Sports courts and back. It's just the sidewalks but it is nice.
Sounds like something similar at Lakeshore.

The old Grande Vista resort map has a Running & Walking Routes with color coded lines on the map that also showed how long each segment is. This is what I was referring to in my prior post and may be what you walked. Their new resort map no longer has this. They are essentially the sidewalks within and around the resort. I attached a scan of that old resort map that shows the routes.

Grande Vista, at one time, had a nature trail located right nearby. Between the golf course clubhouse and tennis center. The trail was actually on South Florida Water Management District property. I understand it is now closed and the wooden boardwalk that is maintained by Grande Vista no longer has an opening to the trail. I tried to walk through it once in this video, but it was a short wooden boardwalk to nowhere. I suspect there was a beaten path at one point, but no one probably walked it because of all the critters and it just grew over.

I had actually forgot about the long path along the lakes between Lakeshore Reserve and the Ritz Carlton. It actually runs quite a ways down past Lakeshore Reserve in front of what was to be future development.

Here is a good overhead view of the walking path from Lakeshore Reserve (bottom right of the map), along the right side bank of the "lake", past the JW, and past the Ritz. There is also the Shingle Creek Trail that runs along the road out front of the 3 sites. (Turn on Satellite view if not defaulted to that when the map opens)

We always enjoy walking the path between resorts at Grande Lakes. For me Lakeshore is the easy choice everytime if available.

I walked on that trail once, but never again. First of all, when I stepped onto the little wooden bridge, something scurried out from underneath it and into the brush. It scared the daylights out of me. I don't know what it was, I didn't get a look at it as I was screaming but I would say it was at least as large as a groundhog. As I proceeded farther up the path, a wayward golf ball from a golfer on the 2nd hole almost hit me. Yikes! I got the heck out of there fast.
