Wow, thank you both. Would you say that this picture would be representative of all floors in both buildings? Also, are you saying that the dedicated 2 bedroom units face the lake and not the parking lot? Do you know if the balconies on the top floor are covered?

For Messina and Palermo, they should be fairly similar. The dedicated 2BR units face the lake in both buildings and the 2BR units that lock off in to two 1BR units are at the parking lot end of the building. I looked back at some older photos I have and it doesn't look like the top floor balconies are covered.

Floors 2-4 I believe are identical in both buildings, but maybe reversed direction side to side. There are no rooms on floor 1 of Palermo. Only Messina has ground floor units. I like the ground floor because the porches are open and you can enter and exit from them. The 5th floor is not identical because there are no lakeside end units (2BR dedicated) on the 5th floor in Messina and no parking lot end units (2BR Deluxe) on the 5th floor in Palermo. The floor just stops before getting there. This makes a total of 16 2BR dedicated units and 16 2BR Deluxe lock-off units.

The balconies are covered on the top floor for the side units. Just not the top floor 2BR dedicated and the top floor smaller 1BR side of the 2BR deluxe. The larger 1BR of the 2BR deluxe lock-off is on the side and not the end and it is covered.

Nice. Thanks for the detail. So does that mean that the 4th floor Messina 2 bedroom dedicated units just have a roof above them and the 5th floor is just smaller?

Yes. This is a pic of the 5th floor balcony in Palermo looking almost directly at Messina in the distance. You can see the same room type with the open uncovered balcony at Messina, but it is the 4th floor. Even though the roof looks like it blends in you will notice that the units behind it go one more floor up to the 5th.

While on the subject, does anyone where the two bedroom townhouses are located? And has anyone stayed in them/would you recommend it? Looking at trying this resort out...thanks!

The townhouses are in the Rosarno and Capo d' Orlando sections. I definitely recommend them and they are generally preferred over the other 2BR types. If I choose I prefer Capo d' Orlando because it is closer to the pool, grill, and main building. As a weeks owner you can only reserve the 2BR town home if have 2BR Deluxe ownership.

This is what Lakeshore was supposed to look like. You can see the massive difference between this and what they ended up with when they put on the brakes during the housing crash. Unfortunately the full build out is extremely unlikely to ever happen. I say unfortunately because the fees would be lower and I own there. On the flip side it would make the pool much more crowded.

Thank you very much! I booked a few nights with cash, and will request the Capa d' Orlando section. We've always stayed at Vistana Villages but saw it available and figured we'd try it. Hoping it's a good choice! If you have any other recommendations/insight into the resort, feel free to share! :)

I just noticed something interesting from the two pics. Just to the right of Messina in the original full layout there is a sidewalk that goes from the parking lot to a side entrance but it does not continue to the walking path or the pool area. The current layout has this path going all the way to the pool area gate. That extension does not exist and instead it is as it is in the original full layout. That extended path is much needed and was apparently noticed and changed in the design. Currently you can tromp through the bushes and grass rather than going all the way around though Rosarno but it is not ideal.
