Here at Lakeshore Reserve this week. They came and changed all of the locks on the doors.

Not a problem, we just had to get new keys.

Unfortunately, the wristband keys no longer work. They mentioned that new ones should be arriving soon.

I think this is probably going to be a system wide change. We were at the custom house in Boston a couple weeks ago and our wristbands worked, but the front desk said that eventually or soon all the locks will be changed and new wristbands will be required. Our Maui ocean club wristbands only worked there. I’m wondering if maybe that type of lock/wristband will be used system wide.

Difficult to understand though why the RFID wristbands can’t just be reprogrammed to operate with the new locks?

It will be a pain to maintain multiple wristbands and knowing which ones work at which resorts.

I wonder if we will be required to purchase new wristbands or will we be allowed to make an exchange for the new wristbands?

Sadly this has always been the case with our International MVC resorts using different RFID standards for the wristbands to what is used in the US.

The front desk mentioned that this is a whole new system that has more security built in. They claim that the wristbands will have to change to match the new enhanced security

Front desk staff told us this is a phased systemwide change. They have new wristbands on back order and they might take a few weeks to arrive. Owners will be able to get new ones at no cost by turning in the old ones.

We called Crystal Shores (where we head next) and they are still using the old wristbands since they are not scheduled for the new locks and wristbands anytime soon.
