It’s really a matter of degrees. Both towers are great. The Lahaina tower is closer to the water, but we have enjoyed staying in both towers. It’s a great resort. We have an upcoming exchange to MM1 and trying to decide what to request. Which is better the Lahaina or Napili tower?
We've always received the view for which we exchanged. 3 for 3 on Ocean Front. Just tend to get lower floors, and not the best location, but in my experience, they have always honored it.I have a vague memory that MM1 follows the usual MVC villa assignment priority system and instead of honoring the II villa code assigns exchangers 'bottom of the barrel' villas above only marketing (aka Encore) stays. Someone else may have more accurate info on that topic.
If so, then you'll be choosing between Napili Island View and Lahaina Mountain/Garden View. Napili's Island views are actually quite beautiful with a panoramic view of the West Maui mountains...except for the bottom floor which mainly looks out onto the Napili parking garage. Lahaina MV/GV looks either at the Hyatt or a blend of the pools and the main resort parking garage. Napili is also marginally closer to the restaurants and shopping at Whaler's Village and the snorkel excursion beach.
For people looking to stay at MOC on points I usually recommend Lahaina OF or Napili IV (obviously with very different availability and cost). For you I would recommend asking for "Napili except for the bottom floor...otherwise Lahaina".

One other consideration between the two towers, if you are staying in Napili, you get to park in the Napili parking garage, which, in my opinion, is less hectic and much easier to navigate than the Lahaina garage.
We have the same question. We have a one bedroom villa, Oceanfront. Would Napili or Lahaina be a better choice?Napili has a larger grass area in front of it. They do yoga there. Lahaina is closer to the ocean and can have marginally better views. It's adjacent to the Hyatt. Both are lovely. I would not worry about the renovations
Both are quite nice and since I assume you aren't an owner at Napili it comes down to when and how often you move your car.We have the same question. We have a one bedroom villa, Oceanfront. Would Napili or Lahaina be a better choice?
