Had our update. Not much new that I could gather.

No more trade ins
They offered to requalify our wlr pplus unit if we purchased 44000 Eoy gold adventuras for $10000 with $362 mf yearly. Or requalify 2 units with an annual 67000 package for $23000.
They said there will be some future program to access all under the Marriott umbrella, no additional fees. We shall see.

They offered 6 nights in a 1 bedroom encore package with airport transfer for $1495 plus $99 fee. Includes 100000 bonvoy points.
Interesting to us was that they could book us in wk 52 next year and we could call and use our Staroptions to extend into January gold season right away, so effectively getting a resi 4 months earlier than normal

We received $125 resort credit

Once you requalify your WLR you would have access to StarOptions with that unit. Should we conclude that the SOs would give access to the Marriott umbrella? This would be the closest hint to date that SOs and not FlexOptions would be the exchange currency.

Yes 148100 SO. It seemed like they would make some kind of conversion factor for SO into a common currency, for Westin, Sheraton and Hyatt and Marriott.

But nothing in writing, so it's still a wait and see

The mandatory resorts would be the winners, especially 2br high season Svv Bella (cheapest upfront) and WKV (lowest MF/SO) , the most common resale generators of StarOptions. Marginally also those that can be re-qualified and have low MF/StarOption like SDO true platinum and Lagunamar platinum.

The resale MVC points would likely go down in price since cheaper alternatives would be on the market; Marriott would welcome this since they could ROFR the points at even lower prices than now.

We were at WLR recently and this was discussed as well that there will be some sort of SO-MVC conversion factor. It does make the most sense and eliminates any alienation of owners who bought direct or bought mandatory resales. We shall see I guess......

Are there any SDO platinum left to buy and requal?

I haven’t seen one come to market for awhile now. There were a couple of EOY that were listed a few months back at what I thought was too high (>$2500). Best bet if you want to go this route would be a plat week at Lagunamar.

I did the math a while back. The number of units in phase one etc. The number sold, not bought back. Yes. WLR Plat would be an easier find and a good unit to own anyway.

I own a WKV Plat plus. Never been there. Mainly used at WLR

Sounds like they read tug a few months back for ideas on what a joint program could be lol. Every speculation was thrown around. Including a universal point program where you convert points (SO/DC etc )for cross booking. Can’t wait to see how this shakes out

Four years ago or so. They were impossible to find then. Anecdotally there are a dozen or so members here that requaled and more that acknowledged they owned one with a plan.
