We will be staying at the Kona Hawaiian Resort and will have a problem with sleeping arrangements because of the unit setup. There will be 6 people, all adults and all of the units are 2 br with queen beds in the bedrooms and a queen sleeper sofa. We were hoping there would be a bedroom with twin beds because there are 2 couples and 2 singles, male & female. They are not together and could have made twin beds work but because all beds are together it is a problem.

I spoke with the resort and they do not provide roll a way beds and they do not know of any business that rents them.

Any thoughts?

Your best bet would be to get an additional unit - most adults don't want to sleep in the living room, anyway.

A blowup twin size mattress that you bring with you and leave behind so you will have room for the trinkets and gifts. Some even have bedframes to elevate it off the floor or double bed size which folds over to raise the height. Can't be more than $50.

When are you going? I have a friend who will be there in late Nov for a week and he is travelling alone.

Both bedrooms have king beds, in my experience.

This probably still won't help if one of the "couples" needs separate beds. ;)

I've posted a question about roll away bed rental on the konaweb forum. If I find out anything I'll post it here.

Don't know if this will pan out, but someone on the konaweb forum suggested calling them. If they don't rent out roll-away bed they may know who might.

I can't see where you would put a roll away

There isn't any room in either bedroom, and the Living room is used up by the sofa sleeper. The only spot that a bed could fit would be in the kitchen along the wall. You could go to Costco or Wal-Mart when you arrived and get an Aero bed , that should solve that bed issue, but I agree with Denise, 6 adults in that unit will be cozy, I would opt for another unit or a rental close for one of the couples.
fwiw,
Greg

thanks for your help, it is very much appreciated.

>>>We were hoping there would be a bedroom with twin beds because there are 2 couples and 2 singles, male & female.<<<

Are the singles related to either of the couples? You could have "boys in one room" and "girls in the other" with the actual "couple" left on the sleeper sofa.

As I recally, the master bedroom was a king, but I thought the second BR was just a queen.

p.s. I went back to check photos taken in 2006, and yes one bed was king and the other queen.

I think they changed to 2 kings last year
